5boys; You are welcome. Hope it helps. No responsive email to us yet, but hopefully by the end of the week.

Try going to the Gibson sight and hitting forgot my id/password. My S did this over the weekend after not receiving his log in for over a week. Within seconds he had his id and password in his inbox.

Brilliant Zcarey!!! My S did just this and had it in a few seconds…Thanks so much!! I love CC!!!

Sorry I did not have Zcareysmom’s tip. Looks a lot easier.

But I did want to follow up and say that we got the replacement user name and password today (a day after our email request), in case anyone else requested the information by email.

Want to give everyone an update: I called admissions today, they told me even though my app was compete 2.5 weeks ago, they can’t guarentee a decision until December 15th because of how many apps they’re receiving.

When this thread started, people were asking why anyone would apply so early when the deadline isn’t until November 5- this is exactly why, haha.

I got accepted!!

accepted! :D

accepted :)

Applied Single Choice Early Action - shouldnt I have heard before all the Single Choice people? At least in time for me to apply early elsewhere if I am deferred…???

Is there any benefit at all to SCEA?

sorry, I meant shouldnt we have heard before the EA candidates? Well, I guess not…

The notification is nominally the same for both, December 15. But everything else being equal SCEA would get more attention than EA. Are you sure they have everything? When did your app show complete? The other possibility is that you are borderline for Tulane. If so, they would probably hold your app until they have everyone’s in. That is only another week.

SCEA isn’t binding, so go apply elsewhere anyways

Meklove: this happened last year to SCEA people and the explanation was that it was the first year of SCEA, so it took longer…fallen chemist may be right about them waiting to see the entire EA pool before making its decision but IMO that is not cool unless they told SCEA applicants they would be delaying their decisions…

Good to know for future years…

But they are not delaying their decisions, Tulane only promises a December 15 notification. If you hear sooner that is a bonus Tulane often gives, but they never promise an earlier notification.

FutureVP - You are right that SCEA is not binding, but the applicant does agree that they will not apply EA (or SCEA or ED) anywhere else. That is what meklove was saying, that they would “apply early” elsewhere if they already knew Tulane was deferring them.

accepted :)

Son was accepted today per Gibson online system.

I know I should be patient, but it has never been one of my virtues. Does anyone know if merit awards come simply by mail or if there is any place on line that can be checked?

Thanks Tulane, it is really great to get quick turnaround on the application process!

Only by mail, they never tell merit awards online or on the phone. I can understand the phone, but beats me why they don’t post them online. Perhaps it is because the awards are “filed” under the financial aid part of the student’s online record, and they usually don’t create those until later I think. You should see if you can access a financial page under the Gibson account and check if it might be there already. But I doubt it based on previous years experiences.

It isn’t! My admissions officer said that we have to wait anywhere from 2-3 weeks to hear back about it!

I believe it showed up complete about 3 weeks ago or so. D also applied for Musicianship Scholarship…would that hold it up?
