As far as the personal statement, it is possible that it won’t show as being received until someone manually sees you have attached it. If it doesn’t show up as complete by Tuesday I would resend it in an e-mail to your admissions counselor. As far as the secondary school report, that of course comes from your high school. It may need to be resent if for some reason they sent it but Tulane isn’t showing it yet. It might have something to do with the fact you just submitted yesterday, maybe everything has to catch up to it.

We were away this weekend with limited internet, but apparently on Friday my D was accepted to Tulane!! She’s anxiously awaiting word on any merit scholarships which they said would come with the acceptance letter in hard copy.

She was SO excited! And I’m excited to go to NOLA for a visit!!

Hello… So I applied to Tulane single choice early action. My application is complete and marked, but having had much contact with my counselor, I asked her if she could wait for my October ACT scores to be released. I have shown an extreme amount of interest in Tulane, but I feel I am on the lower end as I am reading through these posts. I have tons of ECs, a very solid essay, and a very difficult course load. Today, in an email conversation with my counselor about transcripts that were marked incomplete, she told me that she was certain that all my criteria was submitted (so she has seen it?!) and that I should not fret and to keep checking Gibson because she “suspects there will be an update soon”.

Short overview of stats:
GPA: uw 3.6–very advanced course load
ACT: 27, but 31 in writing, 29 in reading, 27 math, and an awful science score that ruined my composite. I retook the test in October so hoping the science section went better.
Again, LOTS of ECs, lots of leadership roles, published psychology research, and LOTs of community service, including Habitat in NOLA.

Still nervous though seeing the great stats in the posts and awaiting my decision!

Thanks fallenchemist, but you didnt say what the “Application-Part 2” is. Also, I sent my ACT scores on Sunday, do you or anyone else know how long it takes for this to register on gibson? Thanks for the help so far.

Not having actually gone through the app myself I am not sure what Part 2 is. I kind of thought Part 1 was your basic info (name, address, etc.) and Part 2 was where you filled in your info on EC’s and the like, maybe the essays as well? I really do not know since I can’t really fill out an app.

I also do not know how long it takes ACT to report scores to the schools you ask it to.

FC-- What do you think of my situation?

Thanks for the speedy reply, now that I think about it there was a step 1 and step 2 for the application. I obviously submitted part 2 but maybe it has to be manually checked like you said and thats why both part 2 and the personal statement are showing as incomplete, or at least thats all I can think off. If anyone could clarify I’d appreciate it, and thanks for the help fallenchemist.

Your welcome expand1. Don’t be shy about shooting off an e-mail to admissions. Keep it short and polite and they don’t mind at all.

Laurmh - really hard to say since the info you can share is pretty limited. I imagine they will wait for your October ACT to show up, and hopefully you did get it to 28 or 29. Since you are a Louisiana resident (?) (I am basing that on the fact you said you did Habitat in NOLA, but of course you could have traveled there to do it) with a 28 your are automatically accepted. I think your chances are good anyway, but not a slam dunk based on what little I know.

Ah thank you for replying! But no I am not a Louisiana resident, I am from the northeast. I am hoping the complete package of the application helps me!

Accepted with the Distinguished Scholar, $25k a year

exapan1, Fallenchemist is right. Part 2 of the application is your EC’s essays, and the like. :)

FutureVP - Congrats! That is a great accomplishment.

D accepted today! Application marked complete Nov. 7, Gibson updated today. Now awaiting that big white envelope :-)

Hmmm…I am so disappointed. My S app was marked complete last week. Now I checked today and it has changed to missing the ACT scores. The ACT scores were sent the beginning of October. Any suggestions? Is it better to email or call?

Congrats to all that have been accepted. My S is anxiously waiting and would love to go to Tulane with his cousin!

I would e-mail.

Alright, so if the essays and extra curriculars are part 2 of the app how long does it take for it to show on Gibson? Im just worried that it wont show up or i have to resend it, if someone could give me a definitive answer it would help me out 100000000%

expand1 - Just send an e-mail to your admissions person to make sure they got it all. If there is a problem they will tell you and you can resend.

expand1- my daughter submitted on Nov. 7th, and it said they hadn’t received her essay or part B for about 24 hours. They must have to post it manually and I’m sure as the deadline gets closer, they get more apps and it would probably take longer. She hasn’t heard anything yet, and she is a pretty solid applicant.

My GC’s office mailed my transcript/recs on Oct. 19th, and yesterday when I checked Gibson it said I was accepted! It took a while, and I still haven’t gotten that pretty envelope in the mail, but I’m happy with this.

Good luck to those who haven’t heard yet!! :)
