Who’s going to one of the two Eagle Days? Is it worth it? We would have to fly in from Los Angeles, but BC is in the top two for my son, so it seems to make sense to hang in Boston for a couple of days.

rough schedule:
8-9 am: families register at conte forum, listen to a speaker
9:30-1030: families move to academic sessions (you pick a topic your interested in and a professor talks about it
there’s a lot to choose from)
1030-1130: more acadmeic sessions or “what makes bc distinct”
1130-1230: lunch
1230-130: campus tours, res hall tours, club fairs

if y’all never went to see BC before, i would recommend it just to get a vibe of campus. both admitted eagles days are on sunday (there’s an honors one on a saturday) so the campus won’t be too too busy.

the one on the 15th would be fun to go to, since on the 16th there’s the boston marathon which runs right through campus, but there will be a lot of drunk kids

We’ve visitied the campus but need a refresher. So we will probably make the trek from San Diego but we’re waiting to see how the whole admssion thing shakes out to plan the trip. There may have to be some intermediate stops.

…and this is unusual for BC or any college campus?

@stanford, yes. most kids don’t drink outside or on mondays

or in the morning for that matter

So indoors 6 days a week from and after Noon they’re good

Well not 6 days a week, usually only thurs, fri, and saturday if you really want to see kids drinking…

I was kidding. College kids drink. If the keep it to the usual Thursday - Saturday schedule that’s more under control than lots of places.

Would like to hear from more admits if they are going to Eagle Day and what its benefits are.

@laplatinum, I’ve visited BC 4 or 5 times (both siblings go there) so I’m pretty certain of the feel of the school. That being said, I don’t think I’ll go but if you’ve never visited I would attend.

@laplatinum, I’m a current freshman at BC. When I was accepted last year, I went to Admitted Eagle Day (and similar ones for the other schools I was accepted to). The Admitted Eagle Day was what made me decide to be an Eagle.

I’m from California, and I was wondering what I should wear this day. How formal is it?

You’ll have people in all sorts of clothes, but it’s not a formal event. You’ll be walking between academic buildings and around campus, so just wear something comfortable and that you can move around in. Currently, the weather for Sunday is 75 and rainy, so an umbrella might be a good idea, too ;)

No need to try to impress anyone at this point. You are already accepted. Most students will be dressed neat, casual. Comfy shoes are a must.
