early acceptance letter through financial aid letter?

Haha, sounds like everyone here is getting worked up over nothing. Either way, come April everyone will know the decisions :)

I got two letters from the admissions office yesterday afternoon then in the evening I received the phone call! One letter wrote "We are writing to let you know that all materials...have been received in our office...Continued success during your senior year!" This is really exciting >.> I also took a pic of my caller ID because it said "Emory"...Lulz

Haha, I think the wording of these documents and the special update letters Emory has been sending out have been implemented to just get applicants, for lack of better words, "TOTALLY AMPED!" about their school. I liked Emory before I applied but these cliffhangers definately add to the spice of the application process, something I am sure they're aware of :).

talked to my school's college counselor today.

she said emory doesn't do financial aid stuff for rejected kids, i.e. as norcaldad said, you have to be accepted for the financial aid office to get your stuff.

then said unless she's totally wrong, i can take this as an acceptance letter.

YES!

Nahs: i hope you are right because my D received the same letter as you!! crossing my fingers!!!!! and she also received an email from Emory a week ago with a link to youtube about "the advantage program"! my deduction is that it's a good sign! but we never know with those weird decisions sometimes....to be continue...

I'm pretty sure this is a likely letter. I just got the same letter today and it wouldn't make sense for them to still not have finalized their decisions/started reviewing my application by this time... the decisions get sent out within a month. also if they need the missing items in order to start reviewing my emory application then they would have already given me a deadline for me to send in the materials by.

but, that's just my theory. did anyone call the admission office yet?

i think by saying they need those to review your application, they mean ur financial aid application, not ur emory university admission app

Yes I meant the financial aid application. And as norcal dad said, "you probably would not have received the letter if your application for Admission had been rejected."

So I guess this is a likely letter after all?

hopefully....hey kace, is ur campus email activated?? apparently thats a stronger indication (mine isnt)

well.. who on CC hasn't gotten this letter?

lilian, how do you check if your emory email is activated?

and anonymous91, bunch of my friends didn't get the letter.. but just because you didn't get them that doesn't mean you're not in.. it just means you're not missing any items in your financial aid application.. i think people who are likely to be admitted AND are missing materials got this letter.

I got the email and phone msg earlier, but not a physical letter. No Emory email for me on OPUS. In EA & ED, some friends got requests for FA info but it wasn't predictable because some of them wound up getting rejected or deferred (and accepted, of course).

well im hoping its a "likely" because i got the email/ phone call/ and am missing fin aid stuff.

you check under campus email for the activated email on ur opus

I haven't heard anything important from Emory's office since they finished processing my application. All my financial aid stuff got recieved smoothly though.

Who has had the campus email activated?

Sorry - just saw the other thread.

Since Emory is (I promise) need blind for domestic applicants (US citizens), the FA office prepares a package for each student that applies. So there's no telling if you're accepted based on anything financial aid-wise.

i got the same thing in an email (i didnt get a call though) but i didnt think anything of it at the time. idk i still don't really think anything. did anyone get this in an actual letter rather than and email or call?

It's nothing I got it as an ed'er
