Yes, he/she did. You just have to look at the stats under their name:

I got the letter and email as well and decided to ask my AP US History teacher who is an Emory Alumni. He strongly believes the email and the letter indicate acceptance. For further clarification, I asked my college career counselor about her opinion. She too, believes that I have already been accepted. She reasons that colleges do not bother checking the finanicial aid information for the thousands of applicants they recieve because they simply do not have the time; thus, they only review the financial aid applications of those who are accepted.

Makes enough sense to me. However, I refuse to let myself believe my teacher and counselor. I guess we will just have to wait. Good luck to everyone!!

I really don't think it means anything.

Why doesn't someone call and ask?

afitscher, since you got in, I'm sure the email/letter means something.

And thanks subtledork, now I'm really getting my hopes up! (Although I shouldn't be.)

It sounds like the only ones that didn't get the email, call, or letter do not have anything in their FA to-do list (OPUS lists everything received). If many people still had stuff on their FA to-do list and didn't get contacted, then I'd feel like it was indicative of something. I really wish it meant something, but it sounds like they are contacting everyone with an item on the FA list. I do like what subtledork's teacher and counselor said, though.

Someone should try to contact the admissions office and ask about it.

I actually sent the office of financial aid an email concerning the status of one of my "missing documents" that I had sent in as of last week, and in the email, I asked them about the implied acceptance. So hopefully...I'll hear from them soon =]

Emory takes forever to reply to financial aid stuff.

Or maybe that's just me.

yeah that was the case w/ me when i got into oxford EA.
one day it says that my to-do list is complete and then it suddenly said that i had FA stuff to do. about a week later, i got my acceptance letter.

i called the admissions office today and asked if the financial aid process and is separate from the admissions office or if they do FA stuff for just the admitted applicants and the lady was like I cant disclose that information with you. which i thought was pretty rude. I probably would have been better off contacting FA but this makes it seem like maybe you were all on to something when you said they only do FA for admitted applicants idk though.

WHY IS EMORY HATING ME???

I got no email, no call, no change in FA.....

(And, I know I am qualified enough; I got into Dartmouth and Duke already (likelies))

Emory admissions people need to be more friendly.

bigweight chill. you've already gotten into emroy from your past posts. calm yourself.

btw you shouldn't act so arrogant. "I know I am qualified?"

you think your acceptances from duke and dartmouth weren't at all effected by the fact that you're Hispanic?

plenty of people on the forums, including me, have similiar sat scores and better ap scores than you. your extra curriculars also aren't that special. lose the big head please.

yeah, but you are forgetting the fact, that I came to the US only 8 years ago...i had to learn english, and take AP's and SAT's that weren't in my native language... I got PAGE STAR student for having the highest SAT score in my school.......and what wrong with saying that I am qualified??? (I did a research apprenticeship with an Emory doctor, and the admission people told me since I was nominated from my school, I would be admitted to Emory.......................MAYBE, you are jealous; and u use the same excuse...."you got in cuz your hispanic"

AND....by looking at ur stats, ur SAT is not even close to mine and ur GPA and rank are not really close either....

Calm down guys. No need to call people arrogant or jealous.

And did you really expect the admissions office to basically tell you whether or not you got in? REALLY?? Of course they can't disclose that to you, they'd be breaking a contract.

Just hold on, people. We only have a few more weeks left anyway. I'm sure we'll all make it through life until then. :)

How am I jealous?

I know so many kids who came from Korea 4 years ago and broke 2300. Guess you need to send them all a page star.

I'm glad you got a "page star" award. Was it red and shiny? Did you get to stick it on your refrigerator?

I'm talking about your attitude, the attitude that makes you think I'm jealous of you just because I called you out for acting like Emory needed to take you from the beginning.

I should use the same excuse? I don't even know what the hell you're saying in the bolded part, but I'm guessing you said I got in because I'm hispanic?

Kid look at my handle. Does it look hispanic?
It's freakn nah shim shim hae yo. It sounds like something you'd hear on the chinese take out menu. I'm asian you ignorant prick.

I got a 2240. You got like a 2270. You're calling me out cause you did 10 points better than me on each section? You're pathetic.

dannnnnnng. burn.

u cant even read a damn message right u stupid ****....im saying U (the dumb korean) are using the excuse that I (hispanic me) got into Dartmouth and Duke cuz i was hispanic.
