Early Acceptance to Stanford--STATS

Hey guys,

I just thought I'd post my stats for all the people looking to get into Stanford. I've just been accepted (early action) to their class of 2011. Here's some info in case you're interested:

Location: Chicago, IL

ACT: 32
SAT 1st time: 2030
SAT 2nd time: 2140

ECs:
Debate Team--4 years
Academic Decathlon--4 years
Jazz Band--2 years
President of National Honor Society--2 years
Varsity Cross Country--1.5 years

I also sent in an additional recommendation from a summer program I did at MIT. (MITES--Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science)

Other possible factors:
Black
Female
Low-income

token postergirl for affirmative action!

Are my scores that low?

no its just my friend had like almost full scores for all his SATs and he didnt get in.

Well It might be due his lack of ECs but then again no one know how colleges do acceptances anyways.

I am jumping to conclusions but your race and economic status most likely "helped" you out.

You are also a female looking into the engineering field.

You got economic status, race and sex playing in your favor.

Your grades would have gotten you into most colleges but I feel they are a little low for stanford.

My grades? I didn't post my GPA.

Oh, well. I guess you make a good point.

You are a very well qualified applicant, but Stanford matriculants tend to have much higher stats (only going by SATs here), so those stats prbly aren't a good representative. I'm guessing being a female engineer and urm prbly helped a lot.

You would know by now. :) Good Luck.

OP...don't you feel a bit guilty that a lot of people who worked a lot harder got rejected.
