Early Action and Grades

Do colleges see your first semester senior year grades if you're applying early? Isn't the midyear report sent after first semester?

I’m not exactly sure but a student from my school got into MIT (early decision) couple days before Christmas. So I’m assuming they won’t see your first semester grades until after they make their decisions.

You mean early action right?^ I’m pretty sure MIT only has early action…

Nope, colleges won’t see your first semester grades if you’re applying EA/ED. Some may ask for first quarter, depending on the school.

And yes, MIT has early action, not early decision.

Also (forgot to add), you’ll have to send first semester (to some schools) and second semester (to wherever you end up attending) grades at some point, just not before getting a decision EA/ED.

Yeah, typo …

so if you’re taking very rigorous courses will colleges defer admissions during EA just to wait and see what your grades in those classes will be?

bump… 10 char
