Wow congrats people!!!

When did you turn in your applications???

I turned in my application on March 1st.

I submitted mine January 11th, but haven't gotten a call yet :(

Also, I just got this email today.

Dear Christina,
Completed applications are currently under review and decisions will
start being mailed by the end of this week.
Best,

School of General Studies

This wait is killing me.

I submitted my application Feb 27.

My file was complete as of March 1. I am planning to major in sociology or psychology- hoping to end up in law school.

Now I'm stricken with fear that I won't be able to afford Columbia. Bleh.

Congratulations everyone, I hope to be joining you in the Spring of 2009!

Did you guys get your financial aid yet? Also, could you post your stats? Thanks

Here are my stats:

Age: 29 (thus GS)

Major: Physics, or if they let me, a double major in Math and Physics, so it's nice to meet you, Goshamoossy.

GPA: 4.0 at San Francisco City College (a jc)
HS GPA: 2.2!! and I should have received much worse. Twelve years ago.
Transferring as a Junior
SAT I 2320 800 CR, 800 M, 720 W, with 9 on the essay. Flurg the essay.
SAT II Math 2 780, Physics 800.

No financial aid yet, since everything has happened over the phone.

Age- 36

3.87 GPA at my local community college.

vice president of leadership - Phi Theta Kappa

I took the GSAE so I don't have any SAT/ACT scores.

In addition to stats; what type of work experience did those who applied have?

i've been working pretty much full time since i was 17. i am only 21 now, but i had taken a gap year between high school and college (thus making my application to columbia eligible for GS only). i work full time and attend school full time. my mom is disabled so i am working to put myself through school.

I have such an embarrassing employment history I can't bare to post it. Suffice it to say, whatever work experience you have, any of you, it's more impressive than mine. I'm looking at you, Denny's night shift managers. (I'm not kidding).

I have another question for everyone: How many credits have you completed/will you have completed by Fall 2008?

Around 70 units. I suppose it depends on how many they're willing to take.

Well, here are my stats since Aneece and Columbiagirl have been so nice to disclose theirs.

Age: 25
Major: Econ
GPA: 4.0 California Community College
HS GPA: 2.5 WEIGHTED. How embaressing
SAT -560 ENG + 640 MATH = 1200 (taken exactly eight years ago so they are still valid although not very good scores. I probably should have retaken).
EC,etc: Military/Iraqi Vet, College campus newspaper editor, Dean's list
Will have completed 70 semester units by the end of this spring & AA in General/Lib.Arts and Business. I finished these units in one year, taking 20 credits in Summer 07, 25 in Fall 07, and currently taking 25.

I also wrote an addendum to explain the h.s. transcript...

Yikes, I will be applying this spring with only 19 units completed at a California Community College. I understand these units may be different from other units, but 19 compared to 70 is very small. I hope that will not hurt my chances.

to those of you who got the acceptance call, have you gotten anything in the mail yet?

Nothing in the mail yet. I was told to expect a FedEx by the week's end.
