Ok, there are NO emails. Everyone gets a small envelope regardless of whether they are accepted or rejected.

Congrats to all of you who got in! In case anyone is wondering, you don't get your financial aid packages until April, which kind of sucks.

Also, to those deferred, you still have a good chance. They completely re-review your application with the RD pool, and I know a bunch of people here that were deferred EA, but got in RD. Keep your heads up.

I actually got a... CALL!

Yes, thats right. A GTown student called congratulating me, and I was like "What?" and I explained that I never got a letter, probably because they have my city spelled wrong. So he put on an admissions officer and she confirmed it. I have the craziest stories with GTown lol

I thought recs/essays were good, but everyone does...so oh well

clever user name

I haven't gotten my letter yet, but looking at the people who got deferred... I'm wondering why I applied at all. Georgetown is my first choice, but thinking back, I didn't make that clear enough.

It seems that its easier to get into the Business school...

Well statistically its like 25% accepted compared to 20%. But I don't think it would be fair to say that MSB people wouldnt get into the other schools.

Well it wasn't easier to get into the business school for me... It's okay, if I don't get in, it's there loss. I just can't believe that from the top three of us from my school that applied, none of us got in. That just makes me the most mad. I'm sure there were lots from our rival private catholic school (we're public)...

Anyways...congrats to those accepted!

*ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I feel slightly guilty that I got in and so many others with much higher SAT's, better extra curriculars, etc., didn't. Well, I counted on being denied admission so much that my college plans have been rather turned upside down.
P.S. I don't post often, but have found this forum full of invaluable info when I was applying. Thanks for the assistance everyone! Also, I'd like to thank god, my parents, my cat, my hot chocolate, my dog, my town, my grapes, my crazy relatives, my pork chops, my...

Stats:

SAT: 2260 (730 CR, 760 Math, 770 Writing)

SAT IIs: US History 740, Math 750
only had 2 SAT IIs but ACT: 33 with 12 on essay

GPA: 3.6 uw.. weak point but had health issues fresh/ part of soph year which led to lower GPA. Since then it's been high and i've been taking harder and harder courses. And I do go to one of the most competitive private schools in Texas. We don't get any grade boost for APs.

Rank: NA

Other stats: 5 APUSH, 5 Eng Lang, 4 Span Lang

Subjective:

Essays: ap english teacher liked personal statement / so did college counselor. sfs essay got high marks

Teacher Recs: we don't see them but my college counselor said for national merit, my recs were great

Counselor Rec: didnt see but i'm sure really good bc we talk a lot and really get along/ she likes me a lot

*Extracurriculars: have started lots of political clubs / awareness things, do debate and i have awards, community service, etc etc and i have quite a few awards

*Other Factors: weird bc the interview deadline was extended until the 15th and my interviewer was like ohh they dont make decisions until i send the interview stuff in. and he wasnt able to meet until last friday so i had it in then and he was like it's fine, they're running really late. yet, i got the decision today (monday). i had my interview friday. soo obviously they made the decision before (1) he sent the interview stuff in (2) i even had the interview. so much for that being mandatory ....

oh well, their loss. and i dont think the school is progressive enough for my tastes anyway.

I'm so excited for Georgetown! Rage 2010!

Wow...looking at some of you who got deferred...I can't believe I got in at all! I'm sure many of you will get accepted regular decision but it's awful to see so many people who have done so much in the last four years get turned down. Seems like the SFS is much harder to get into than the college, which is what I chose. Good luck to everyone who got deferred; but you guys are probably the first ones they'll go for when accepting regular decision apps, so don't worry too much!
