Early Action Results Thread!

Could the deferred people post their stats in the results thread?

I'm going to die if I got deferred. I'd be so ashamed compared to my friends who got into Ivies yesterday.

The last thing you want to do is be ashamed because of what an admissions officer thinks. Some of the people making these decisions are pretty...interesting individuals. =)

hey mario, do you make phone calls to the accepted students living in MD?

I AM FREAKING OUT!!!! gah!!

Hi, I'm not sure what state I will be calling yet. Calling is on December 15 6-8 pm December 16 6-8pm, and December 17 7-9 pm, hopefully we get to everyone!

why do you call? I thought we only call you if we don't have our letter by the 16th...

It's a way of seeing if people have any questions and to encourage them to go to Georgetown and say Merry Christmas. Also it is an excuse for everyone to eat free pizza in the office.

i have this urge to call in and ASK about my decision!!!!!!
or maybe mario can check for us??

hey mario, do you know what time yesterday the mail went out???

i live in brooklyn NY and am waiting on a letter so im guessing either today or tomorrow but Gtown has been my dream school for so many different reasons and i feel like im on death row hoping the electric chair is broken, if you know what i mean?

lol and thanks for all of your advice and statistical information! when i get my decision ill post my stats but until then i dont want to jinx anything :P

so you just call people who got in, right?

Not sure of the exact time, but I do not believe the letters will be arriving today, even in NY. Saturday should be the first day and only for a handful of people. Also, yes, we only call admitted students. They are also the only ones who get christmas cards. When I was deferred I remember feeling snubbed by that, dammit.

Congrats, rain! This is making me sooo nervous, I'm about ready to keel over and die...

It doesn't seem fair to me that the Internationals know and we don't. They should have an email policy for everyone. All of this information is submitted into the computer program anyway. At least Cornell had it up at the same time for everyone.

This school is just now making the transition to a decent email service for its students that can store more than 20 megabytes of messages, so expect them to update their admissions system in about a decade =)

If that is the case, then they should be open to giving out decisions over the phone once at least ONE International has received their decision. It is a biased system as far as I can see.

so mario, you think MD and DC kids will get theirs today or will the 1st letters be recieved tomorrow and one more question---what exactly do you do in the admissions office???

There's not enough people to answer all those phone calls though. There's only one person taking calls right now. I volunteer for GAAP, do phone calling, work the desk sometimes, answer questions, sort applications, etc. And I doubt anyone will get letters today, it's usually Saturday at the absolute earliest.

that would mean west coast applicants may be waiting until Tuesday for mail!
