thanks!

I know you have to register for the event. We're going! :)

The confirmation says that if your last name starts with A-M then you go to the Academic Session at 9:15, if you are N-Z you go to the one at 12:30.

yayyy thanks! i have to register still but im SO excited!

^ That is so nice!!! My son is pretty bored with the whole college thing...

So do you know anything more about how the day works? The info available is pretty sparse. I know we have the 12:30 academic session: what is it? How long will it last? Is there anything else we can do that day there?

S and I went to last year's welcome day for regular students as well as the 2-day orientation in the summer. We had not visited prior to his being accepted and since we're 1500 miles away these were my only chances to get to know the campus as well. Seems so long ago now and I am probably getting the 2 a little confused but the welcome day was basically a full (short) day beginning with a breakfast buffet in the student center, a welcome speech by one of the deans, various short info sessions you could choose from (eg, guided campus and dorm tours), an academic session (for engineering this included another welcome speech from the engrg dept and overview of co-op, plus visits to a few different classrooms where professors and students briefly talked about some of the classes and projects they were involved in), also, a complimentary lunch in the dining hall. There was a bit of overlap between welcome day and orientation but if you have not seen the campus yet, I highly recommend going before you make final decisions. The night before when we were flying out, S confided in me that he was still leaning towards our state flagship; next day fell in love with both the city and the campus!

If you go th myNEU and go to the EA Welcome Days thing you'll eventually find a pdf that has the whole day's schedule on it.

We will be going. :)

Thanks! Ten Chars...

thanks everyone for all that helpful information!

I hope to gooo

i know this is silly, but i am answering my own question haha (just incase anyone else wants to know)

when i registered i got a confirmation email and a week or two later i got a letter in the mail with the same information online about the info sessions and stuff- and they gave a campus map and parking info. so if anyone else is confused just register and you will get the full details

i'm so excited to visit!

I have already visited the campus and taken a tour/campus info session. Do you guys think that there will be anything new that I will learn by going for this? Seems like the same thign to me..

Thanks

ummm idk maybe better treatment, and then you get a look at your potential classmates?
