Can my whole familiy attend the Early Action Welcome Day (parents, 13-year-old sister, 10-year-old brother)? And will there be opportunities to learn more about the honors program (I thought I read somewhere there would be something for honors program, but I can't seem to find it right now)?

I am attending with my D; her 14-yr-old brother and father are staying home because they have previously scheduled activities, and 14-yr-old has been quite bored at past college visits he has attended. I assume that the whole family can attend, but the sibs might be bored.
There is an Honors Program session...actually I believe it is repeated a second time during the day. I have the schedule only for Sunday. It is probably the same on Saturday.

I'm pretty sure my sister can handle it (but then again, it is the last day of vacation), and I'd really love for her to see Northeastern. Perhaps we won't make my brother come. I hope it's okay that I registered all 4 of them (I'm sure I can just call and let them know if some won't be attending).

Where did you get the schedule for Sunday? It said something about getting an e-mail right after I registered, but I have yet to receive one.

Question: Is it necessary to be there at 8:30? It seems that registration is just taking place then and that stuff doesn't start happening until 9:30. My family really wants to sleep in as much as possible on the last day of vacation, lol. Anyone know what time we should really be there by?

^At registration they didn't even have written down how many people were registered in your party, so I don't think so :)
But it was a nice day (Northeastern-wise), sorry I can't say the same about the weather.

I was ready to pack my bags and go! I'm pretty set on Northeastern, now. Takes a lot stress off the next month of waiting to hear from the Ivies (who won't give me any $ if I even do get in). The whole NE experience just seems so incredible. I went to the International Opportunities seminar and it was just... wow. I'm so excited!!

I'd be interested to know how the person above made a jump from NEU to the ivies? Were you just very unqualified for the ivies and just thought it'd be fun to apply? Or did you really love northeastern that much to over look all the higher ranked schools inbetween ivies and neu? wow

"Ivy" is just a title. I didn't apply to Brown and Dartmouth because they're Ivies, but because they have aspects that I was looking for in a college.

I really have to consider finances, and Northeastern will be giving me $14,000 a year. I don't really have the luxury of attending an Ivy even if I were to get in, so I guess I just applied to the Ivies in case my family won the lottery between now and May (and in case I was accepted, of course).

I absolutely love Northeastern. I was nervous about the size at first, but at the EA Welcome Day, they said that honors program really makes everything a lot smaller. With Northeastern, I have the confidence that I will be able to find a career path that I am passionate about. NE also values transforming its students into global citizens. At an Ivy, I'd only be able to spend perhaps one semester (MAYBE two) abroad, whereas at Northeastern I have 3 6-month periods to use for co-op and study abroad. Upon graduating from Northeastern, I'd like to go to grad school (which will be very expensive, of course, so frankly I might as well save on my undergrad)... or perhaps I'll have a job waiting for me upon graduation!

And Boston is just such an incredible city, of course.

Ivies are a crapshoot, anyways... Brown's going to have an 8%ish acceptance rate.

I can't really understand your tone, jadnet01. What do you mean by "Or did you really love northeastern that much to over look all the higher ranked schools inbetween ivies and neu? wow"?

...I hope I've given you some sort of an answer to your question. :) I coud go on further, if you'd like!
