Ok so I'm interested in both UPenn and UNC for early admissions. The thing is UPenn has Early Decision which is binding and UNC doesn't. If I did UPenn ED and UNC EA, would UNC by any chance see that and be like ***? I don't think I'll get into UPenn regardless but yeah. Just curious. My parents have already said that if I get into UPenn, they will send me there for sure so it's not about whether I'm committed or not but whether UNC will see that I applied ED to Penn and judge me or something (regardless of whether I get into Penn or not). I just want to guarantee myself a spot at UNC in case I fall flat everywhere else. Thanks

UNC EA is not binding. You can apply early to other schools.

^ I don’t think that was his question.

Colleges can’t share information about applicants with other colleges, so the only way that UNC will know is if you tell them. Don’t worry about it.

^ I mean, UNC can’t be shocked/upset at OP’s decision to apply ED to another school because their policy specifically states one can do so. They can’t hold it against the OP. But yes, I think you’re right in that UNC won’t know in the first place. :)

Ah, I see what you meant now!

Normally you can apply ED to only one college and EA or Regular to any number of them but I remember seeing some posts in past where HS were discouraging students to apply EA if they apply ED to one college.

You should contact your HS COllege Consular to understand the policy.

Hmmm thanks for info guys

@prdparent, I will make sure to ask my counselor
