I am and always will be a night owl. I can never wake up early in the morning (which is why school days are the real struggle), but I can manage to stay up pretty late. I like this because this habit is good to have if I plan to become an astronomer in the future.
I’m a night owl, but I wake up pretty early, too (6:15 every morning except weekends, when I sleep later and therefore wake up later). I sleep at 1-ish every night–and not because of work.
@Mochis1 It’s awesome that you plan to be an astronomer! Is there anything in particular you’re interested in?
@topaz1116 Holy wow that would totally be my goal except I’d probably die during the day. So you sleep at 1 every night from contemplating the existence of the universe? Do you manage to function during the day?
@Ciella: Potentially aerospace engineering. I’m going to a camp for that next month, but if I end up not liking the subject area, I’ll probably just stick with the astronomy major. c:
By the way, is that a Haikyuu! profile pic??
@Ciella at earliest, 12, unless I’m really, really exhausted. The only times I sleep early are when I’ve had an especially grueling day of practice or something, and that only because my body is sore and lying down helps. And yes, that’s about it, although I usually just read fanfiction or the New York Times.
Wow…I need a lot of sleep. I tend to go to bed by 10 or 10:30 and get up between 6:30 and 7, both during the school year and in the summer (school year tends to be 10:30/6:30 and summer tends to be 10:15/6:45).
I’m going to have to wake up even earlier during the summer so I can catch a bus to my internship–the one I plan on taking leaves at 7:30 and the place it picks me up from is 15 minutes away D: I usually have to be ready by 7:35-ish for school, but I’m going to have to wake up 20-ish minutes earlier.
@Mochis1 Whoa that’s super cool! If I ever get to fly to Pluto I’ll thank you Yes it is Haikyuu - you’re the 1st one to recognize it!! I love volleyball and while I don’t know a lot about anime, my friends showed me some episodes and I was in love… What about you?
@OrchidBloom You count as someone I wish I could be
@topaz1116 Ooh, practice for dance or sport or…? My friends showed me some awesome fanfiction for Sherlock, Hetalia and Kuroshitsuji, but I’m still a noobie. What do you read? And do you need a subscription to read NY Times?
Oh god, good luck for your internship When does school start for you? 7:35 sounds pretty early.
@pseudoprimal We are sleeping twins. Though are we the normal ones or the weird ones?
On a side note, still getting up at 6:45! Though I took a 15-minute nap today; not sure if that’s cheating.
@Ciella school starts at 8, but it’s about 7 minutes away from my house and the later you go in the mornings, the more traffic there is (small streets + big school), so if we leave at, say, 7:40, we reach school at 7:54-ish and then we have to get to class (not fun).
Practice for colorguard, which I guess combines the two (: Our team isn’t at a very high level (we aren’t at the lowest either, though, and we’re pretty good for our division), but we still practice quite a bit. I read (and write a little) Doctor Who, Agents of SHIELD, Once Upon a Time, NCIS, Person of Interest, and pretty much every other TV show I watch. Fluff is always good.
Technically you need a subscription to read more than ten articles a month, but their cookies don’t last for long (I’ve heard it’s on purpose) and you can always use incognito mode (again, I’ve heard that this is on purpose). I absolutely love the Times.
Usually 2-7, 12-7 is the most I’ll sleep if I have absolutely nothing to do. Sleep just seems boring sometimes. I took up learning Arabic just to not sleep.
@topaz1116 Oh I see - we start at 8:40 unless there’s practice/rehearsal! Whoa, colourguard sounds really cool; we don’t have that in any Canadian high school I’ve heard of. My friends love a lot of the shows you list! Though, the only TV show I’ve followed recently is Suits (shows like Hannah Montana when I was 10 don’t count)
Ahh, thanks for the pointer! From what I’ve read, the Times has great articles. I also follow Forbes closely.
@Frigidcold !!! I usually agree - sleep is boring. Lately though exams have wrung me dry. I’m like you - learning languages to not sleep!
I will stay off CC until my math final of doom has passed. À demain, mes amis!
My schedule:
Wake up at 6am
go to school
Come home at 2:45pm
Hit the sofa or bed and power nap <3
Wake up at 5-6pm, start homework
Dinner and shower at 8pm
Continue homework and studying till 12am
12am=midnight snack, and drink some iced coffee
If needed, work till 3am.
Record: 5:30am but do not recommend. WARNING You will fall asleep in class. Also results in half hour super power nap that will last until 5th period.
Record: 9pm (if you bring this back to fifth grade).
In middle school 12 am was unheard of.
Now in high school, hearing the birds and crows chirp and caw outside at 4am is more appropriate. lol
I’m the opposite of the rest of you. I’m definitely a early bird. :). So at night I go to sleep at 8 pm and wake up at 6am. But if I have to do a lot hw, I wake up at 4 a.m., (still get 8hours since I still fall asleep at 8 pm). Anything after 8 I can’t keep my eyes open!
