Early Decision Accepted Applicants...

Hi, I'm applying Regular Decision and the one thing that has been on my mind is the essay. I can't seem to pull off the perfect essay and however many times I write it or think about it, it just turns out sounding cliche and not original. So, I was wondering if any early decision applicants who got accepted to NYU could possibly send me a copy of their essays. I really want to get an example of what is considered 'good'. Thank you so much for your attention. My e-mail is urbandiva42@sbcglobal.net. I would realllly appreciate it if someone could take the time to just do that. Thank you thank you!

Ahh same for me. My email is h20nline@hotmail.com. Please do send.

myself included: vintageantiquity@playitforward.com

Don't be surprised if you don't get any responses, just fyi. Essays, at least mine, are kinda personal. Be real. Stay on topic. Watch your grammar, etc. It's not worth putting up a front. They're looking for a good match too. So if you act yourself and express your interest in NYU, that's the best you can do. If you just do a google search you should be able to find some essays that have been posted on the internet. Have a parent, neighbor, somebody on this website, or another educated person read yours if you're uncomfortable.

Thank you swirlz for sending me your essay.
I really do appreciate it!

no problem

Thanks a lot swirls. Swirls as in maggy moo ice cream i'm assuming? hehe

mine is somewhat personal, so i'd rather not send it

Well, since I already got in and I have no worries anymore, I can send you my essay. Just email me at anthony.kit@gmail.com and I'll send one out. I just have to find it on my computer first. :P

could someone send me their essays too? xxbabygirl01ox@yahoo.com

I was wondering do the ed applicants tend to have higher stats and credentials than the reg. pool? This reg. pools gonna be the end of me.

I think they go more by your scores and stats than the essay, although it probably depends on the school at NYU. Let someone, or several people, proof read it to make sure you don't have grammatical mistakes. Don't think most essays are brilliant. Just write clearly and let them know something about you as a person.

from what ive seen the RD kids have some crazy stats...im sure many kids who are of ivy league caliber use NYU as a safety

its the same at my school too

all the super smart kids (top 5%) are applying to ridiculously hard schools RD so they can compare aid packages, LOL.

first word that comes to my mind after reading FW's post. *****!!!

chillax ^_^

Is there a good soul around here who would let me read their essay too? 2227772@gmail.com I'll be forever grateful :P

Ill take a look alaa22@optonline.net

Ok most of us haven't gotten in yet. We hear back next week starting on Monday.

gosh. i thought a lot of people already found out & i was rejected because i didn't hear back from nyu already.

but thankfully, that isn't the case. :) good luck everyone!

does anyone know if we're getting any emails this week? or just the big (or small [ugh!] envelope)??
