ECs on application: Volleyball captain past three years, knitting teacher for inner-city kids, lessons learned from this on a blog, Counselor in training at a summer camp for foster kids for the past two years, National Honor Society, writing intensive over summer at Vanderbilt, Church Choir then Praise team, HOSA competitor (fourth place in regional competition), VP of computer science club, sell knitting and crochet patterns online, babysit
Awards: Run offs (top 6 documentaries) in State history fair, first place in poetry contest, class biology award freshman and junior year, published poem, director’s selection in poetry contest

As to what they’re looking for in the application process, I can’t answer that. They might not have liked my supplements; I talked about Gone With the Wind a lot (Top 10 Most Repetitive Life Lessons from the book). Maybe they didn’t like my essay; I don’t know. I mentioned how I was an introvert and tended to lean conservative politically during my interview, so I’m not sure. Florida is the second state with the most applicants, so it’s pretty competitive. I’m not too upset though. Just rolling with life. :slight_smile:

Really admire you guys living in the US… I am an international student and still working on my Common essay. Perhaps no chance for me to reserve skype interview… My friend said there is no seats left…:frowning:

And only got 1400 on the sat. Just registered the Dec. test…

3 years varsity tennis, co-captain, part of selective in-school elective groups, community service since middle school, have worked a job 15 hours/week since start of 10th grade, run my own small business (makes me more $ than my job and wrote my common app essay about it)

Anyone that received notification, did they email you that the decision was in the mail, or did you just get the letter out of nowhere?

For Early Decision, I think they only mail the decisions.

Sent in my application on 10/27/17, but got confirmation on 11/1/17, so I hope to hear back soon! I’m expecting to get rejected or deferred, but here are my stats nonetheless:

3.55/5 weighted, 3.45 unweighted (yes, I’m aware of how low this is but I’m hoping the rigor of my high school makes up for it (consistently top 10 if not top 5 for private or public in the nation)
