Early decision release?

My son applied in mid September and heard last week.

Daughter applied in July and heard last week.

Another tweet implying a second round of letters is going out soon.

“ Waiting on another #UofSCYes wave like (there’s a Meme) “

Fingers crossed!!!

My S18 applied mid Sept and heard about 10 days ago.

UGA blog says EA decisions are out. Good Luck!

Sorry. How can I delete the previous post or relocate it?

Did everyone’s acceptance letter discuss scholarships if you were out of state? I see nothing in mine. Just curious

We are OOS. Ours stated that she’d get “at least” $39k, which I believe is the lowest tier merit scholarship for OOS. We thought she’d likely get more due to her test grades, but I think the competition is stiff this year.

DD got letter yesterday- we are OOS. Her letter said she got the in-state tuition worth at least 82,000.

I got my letter today. OOS with $82,000 scholarship min. For what it’s worth, I didn’t apply until November 3, so they are sending acceptances to those that applied after the EA deadline too. Congrats to everyone who got in!

May ask @Rubix1 and @1S1Dforcollege what your stats are? Trying to get an idea for my D who will be applying this fall? Thank you!

@1Neophyte our student also received the OOS scholarship of $85k over four years. She had a 34 superscored ACT (i think I read somewhere that SC superscores) and 4.7 GPA. She was awarded the Academic Scholar - Excellence award which is in state tuition plus an additional $2k per year. We are very grateful for the offer but we were hoping for the next one on the list which comes with in-state plus $4k per year. You can see the scholarship tiers with stats here:

Congratulations on the tremendous offer! Thank you so much for the response and link @paparent106 - we have read through all of the information (seems like a dozen times or so now!) but compared with the stats I am seeing here, the published average stats at sc.edu seem low!

@1Neophyte DD had a 1480 SAT and a 4.4 wGPA. She was offered in state tuition and an additional 4K. She was really hoping to get into the honors program but was offered Capstone, she chose to go somewhere else.

@paparent106 and @1Neophyte UofSC does not superscore the ACT, only the SAT.

@hopewhite25 that’s weird. I assumed they did both, but can’t seem to find a policy on the website.

@lastone03 They told us at an admissions event that they do not superscore it when asked directly.

@hopewhite25 good to know. Just think it’s a little weird.

Thank you @1S1Dforcollege for the stats! Congratulations on the offer- sorry it wasn’t quite what she wanted…That would be the perfect offer my sweet D! I think Honors is a stretch as she will be playing a sport and the time commitment will be tremendous. I am hopeful the athletic part of her “stats” will help- we are super hopeful she can get the in state tuition as we are OOS. What school did your daughter choose?

Every school both sons applied to explicitly stated that they did not superscore the ACT.
