Early Decision?

I am a student who very much wants to go to Tisch for acting! However, I was wondering is the chances of getting in ED are significantly higher than RD. Does anyone have stats?

No stats, but more of a risk because they do not defer. It is only acceptance or rejection. In RD waitlist is an option and people do get in off the waitlist, at least sometimes.

I wouldn’t see any reason why ED would be significantly higher for Tisch; they have a good yield and I would imagine that they want to leave sufficient space for people yet to audition.

What we were told is that if you have the stats AND the audition it will increase your odds. The school of course will not admit to this.
If your grades/ SATs are below average or your audition is not fantastic… You will end up with a rejection instead of a chance on a wait list.
I also would not do it unless you can pay the tuition.

We were told in an info session last summer that your odds are slightly higher at ED because fewer students come through that way and they do accept a percentage. But they say - do not do this unless NYU is seriously your top pick - for obvious reasons.
