Early Evaluation

Hey...just wanted an opinion on my chances on Early Evaluation...

Female, Asian
ACT: 30
Top 13%
GPA: 3.9 (Weighted)
Out of State
Extremely Competitive Public High School
Excellent ECs (Lots of leadership positions in and out of school)
National Honors Society
State Scholar
8 APs by graduation
5 Honors Courses by graduation
Excellent Rec letters (have 3)

Would really appreciate a response...thanx! :)

Competitive but not a slam dunk, imo. Class rank puts you into the lower third of the class and your ACT is at the upper end of the interquartile range. Your EC's may pull you through.

Side note: I think Early Evaluation is one of the most civilized practices in college admissions and I wish more schools would do it.

You should have a decent chance, good luck! :)

thanx TheDad and classof08 for replying...really appreciate it!

I couldn't do Early Eval because I forgot to send in my art slides by dec 15th..
Anyway, does EE give you a lot of advantage?

Apart from finding out a likely/unlikely in feb, is there ANY difference between EE and RD?

And do most people do EE?

Does Wellesley give the deferred EDs and early evaluation automatically or at all?

I think deferred ED's are automatically given EE takes but I don't know for sure. From looking at the stats last year, most people do not do EE...but a significant fraction do. 1/4? 1/3?

I don't know if it's advantage, beyond the adcom considering your app when they're less stressed, but if you're living with an EA/ED rejection/referral that EE "probable" (if it comes) is a tonic for the spirits.
