Is there a catch to Early Evaluation?

Is it harder to get in if you choose this rather than RD?

Bump bump bump bump bump (like a descending scale)

EE should be okay, admission chance is around 50% whereas RD admission chance is 24%. Of course that is not to say it’s EASIER to get in, because Wellesley says they look at everyone with (supposedly) the same standards. EE just has a smaller pool of applicants compared to RD. Good Luck~

Then I don’t understand why everybody doesn’t do EE? Isn’t it better?

yeah i think it is, more people are doing it every year~ I guess people who dont do it just figure they 1. don’t wanna make the earlier deadline 2.they are confident they’ll get in in the more brutal RD round. It’s not so apparent in Wellesley (I dont know why), but if you look at other elite schools (ie. Ivies, top 20s), the RD round is almost impossible to get in because you’re competing with many who are so confident in their credentials that they dont bother doing EA or ED, plus the school is probably their backup~~

That’s interesting…

I think you have EE confused with ED. In past years, ED has about 50% odds. EE is early evaluation, with a deadline that is only about 2 weeks sooner than RD. Early evaluation has no downsides, it simply gives you an admissions decision sooner. Hope this helped.

I was looking at class of 2013 stats, since I had trouble finding 2014 stats
ED was 59%, EE was 51%, and RD was 24%
what you were referring to was the 2014 stats where ED dropped to a little higher than 50%

For the class of 2014, the acceptance rate was 64% ED, 49% EE, and 26% RD.

oh wow really? that’s crazy~ 64% is really high
then I assume they might drop it this year…darn. haha

I thought it was 50%! Wow… But like sinfused said, I’m assuming they’re dropping it this year because more people enrolled than expected last year… yay for us… haha

for EE, it says they want 1st semester senior grades…so does that mean you can’t submit the application until mid or late december?

@lilixraindrops
you don’t want to submit your application too early because Wellesley might not start organizing applicant files until a few weeks before the deadline. And trust me, I applied to ED, and my experience tells me that you want to spend as much time preparing for your app as possible; make it perfect. Plus, the app and the grades can be sent at seperate times, so if you can send in the app first and the grades when it comes out. Hope this helped.

Hey can you guys email the link to the early evaluation and regular decision statistics?

Wait…my school doesn’t release first semester senior grades until the last week of jan. we have finals the week of MLK day. can i still apply early evaluation?

referee, yes you can. Every school has different dates on which they have semester grades; just be sure to mention that and you should be fine. They’ll probably ask you to send it as soon as it comes out.

Why is the Early Evaluation admission rate so high? Isn’t it just an earlier application deadline?

Can international student not asking for aid apply for EE?

hey, so i called wellesley and if your grades don’t come out by jan 1, then you can’t apply early evaluation. as i submitted my application, i had no choice to but to choose regular decision. be aware of this while applying. apparently, they have to have those grades. good luck to you all who are applying to wellesley.

^whaaaaat???

I’m going to mark EE anyways and claim I didn’t know. The worst they could do is bump me to RD right?
