Early Next Week

I called Chicago's admission office today and asked when the early action decisions would be released. I was told early next week and by mail, not email. I hope the person I talked to was wrong.

no! go away!

No way! Libby Pearson said herself that the decisions would be e-mailed AND mailed, although she was rather vague with regards to a date and a time. Not following through would result in extreme disappointment. :(. I surely hope that the e-mails will come through on Wednesday (or even Friday!)

yea, libby said on the blog that it will be early next week, by email and mail

check this out!
http://uncommonapplication07-08.blogspot.com/
Its still vague, but this is defintely a setback.

I've said this before, but --

They extended the deadline for me, so I don't mind returning the favor.

mother****

I sincerely hope that the people in Admissions can actually give us a specific date. I really need to know when to check my e-mail, especially since we're getting our decisions after December 15th.

it's a little disappointing... :(

but it's also understandable. they're doing their best, and they've kept us well informed.

if you've just received the news, you'll accept what i just said in about 2 hours.

they should've sent us e-mails on wednesday with the subject line "We regret to inform you..." and when you opened it it would say "that we've pushed back the decision release by a week."

had they done that...
ugh
I agree with Chris; this sucks but is better than pure confusion.

so while we're all anxiously waiting, who thinks they're in and WHY?

personally, i'm thinking deferral because i wasn't wacky enough in my essays, although they were great essays that i felt told a lot about me as a person and some certain experiences in my life.

not questioning your logic, but how wacky do you think they expected essays to be?

i'm sure people overplay the "wacky" side of the essays; you can be a freethinker without being "wacky."

maybe wacky was the wrong word. i think they were just expecting something more "fun", maybe more entertaining, than what i had. as long as my admissions officer is awake and attentive, i think she'll appreciate my essay. it was creative, it just wasn't funny.

same here...

yeah i was obsessing over what i could've changed in my essays a couple of days ago but whatever what's done is done. i still don't want to do other applications though UGGG

Crap. I need to know because my school gets off this week, and if I don't get in then I need teacher recs for safety schools. Crap crap crap.

Same.

I was curious about how the hell they'd be done early with the huge increase in applicants this year. I suppose it makes sense.

I feel like I am going to jump out of my skin im so nervous. Not realy nervous, but impatient. I just want to know. *#%$ you 10% increace!!!
