For OOS, i'm applying regular.......do you think it would have been easier to get in under early notification?? or are they especially selective for early because they haven't seen the whole applicant pool yet?

i remember reading on the website when i was applying that there really is no edge for applying one way or another. that being said, a lot of my out of state friends applied early. my other feeling about this is that if they applied early, they probably were more likely to attend if admitted.

true. I've had chapel hill on my list for a long time, and i would have applied early only i didn't really start looking seriously into the school until it was close up to the early notification deadline...but now I practically know the website by heart and would LOVE to go there (and will be visiting soon)...so hopefully they know that there are more people that are very likely to attend than just those who apply early

let us know how your OOS friends do!

oh haha by my oos friends, i mean those that i've made at unc :) i'm a freshman.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

haha.

are you oos?

yuppers, from ny.

yeah i that's what i thought from your sn.

did you apply regular or early???

and I am still struggling with the short answer. arghhhhhhhhhhhh

early. which was pretty infuriating, because i would have done ED if i could have. and the fact that they don't tell you until the 31st was maddening. also, aren't you past the deadline? how are you still writing the essays?

upstater what were your stats?

1360 SAT, 34 ACT
96/100 GPA (uw)
Took 6 APs between jr/sr year & got almost all 5s
EC's mostly had to do with music but i was also VP of my class

where you from? i'm near buffalo..

rochester, actually. western new york raise up.

they let you submit it up to the 18th.

what do you think my chances are???

1540 SAT (or 2240 for the new scaling)
34 ACT
Mississippi Asian
1/278, most rigorous courses available
leadership positions at school, lots of time spent with school organizations as a result (like co-editor of yearbook), some statewide awards, otherwise not particularly spectacular
APs are 4's and 5's

thats pretty cool upstater, im guessing you know where Batavia is then? little town stuck between Buf and Roch, that's where I live.

All of my friends applied early and all were rejected. I applied regular and am on pins and needles. The wait is endless and wish I knew even if it is a rejection. Seems like everyone got rejected unless they were the absolute best of the best?
