Does Smith still give Early Writes? If so, by when do they typically notify people who have been accepted?
Hello! I just got a letter in the mail that welcomed me into Smith College early! I am super excited and thankful. I believe this is the early write you are speaking of? I really have no idea, I am just excited!
Same as @sre415, got a letter from Dean Shaver (along with a handwritten note), saying I was a member of Smith’s 2020 class!
My daughter just received an early write letter too, with a personal note. We are looking forward to hearing about financial aid!

@juniperann All the way in Delaware, haha. Thank you! I’m not sure if I’ll be going to Smith, but maybe if I get enough financial aid it’ll be in the running!
Mine came yesterday – I live a little outside of Boston. The date stamped on the envelope is the 18th.

@tbhyikes @stellacastor Thanks! I’m in Maine so maybe there’s still hope? Not counting on it though haha. I’ll just be happy if I get in. I come from a small public school in the middle of a cow field (I kid you not), and only a few of my peers are applying to more competitive schools, so I feel really unsure about where I stand and what to expect.
@juniperann I don’t think you should be concerned. I’m pretty sure most applicants find out at the normal time. I didn’t even know early writes existed until I got my letter, and I don’t think it really means anything in the long run. Good luck, and I hope the unseasonably warm weather is suiting your cow field well!

Congratulations to all the girls who got one! I’m about to check the mail to see if I got a letter but I live in Colorado so it might take another day or two. I second @vavoom 's question - was there any change to your guys’s bannerweb accounts?
@Smythe @vavoom Haven’t checked bannerweb since yesterday… at that time, It was not readily functioning! Unsure why. (:
@divu123 THANK YOU! I got a short letter on Smith letterhead… not a huge envelope, so I honestly wasn’t expecting an admissions letter! It also included a handwritten note… very sweet! It said we will receive our official letters of admission around MArch 25… so that must be when they will send out the rest of the letters! Good luck to you! xoxo
@stellacastor The handwritten note was a very sweet touch. I think the “early” applicants are just ones of their choosing? I never signed up for early admissions for Smith … kind of them, nonetheless!
@vavoom @Smythe I checked BannerWeb and there aren’t any noticeable changes. The sense I got from the letter is that everything official would be sent out at the normal time through the normal tracks – they were just notifying us early about what the formal admissions decision would be.
I live in Northern New Jersey and I just got my acceptance letter today with a handwritten note. I wasn’t expecting it at all!
