East-coast vs. West-coast for arts?

What are the differences between the east coast and west coast for the art scene? I know some of the famous art schools (RISD, SVA, Pratt, etc.) are all on the east coast, but the west coast has hollywood and all the major animation industries (pixar, dreamworks, disney)...

So you are unaware of the schools [Art Center College of Design | Pasadena, CA | Learn to Create. Influence Change.](<a href=“ArtCenter College of Design - A Global Leader in Art and Design Education”>ArtCenter College of Design - A Global Leader in Art and Design Education) and [CalArts | California Institute of the Arts](http://www.calarts.edu) . Those are the schools that are “famous” here in the west. And yes, the film industry regularly pulls talent from these schools. Fame is frequently regional

thanks! would you say that the west coast is more film and entertainment while east coast is more design?

no—the West Coast has very fine design programs at those and other schools as well. ACCD alone has the finest industrial and transportation design departments in the country.
