West-coast/East-Coast Art Schools?

I'm planning on attending an art school this fall, to pursue a BFA in either graphic design or fine arts. I have applied to RISD, SVA, and Pratt.
I've been wondering, are there any other schools I should consider?
What about any schools on the West coast? The majority of the school's I've heard of are here on the East coast; are there any renown art schools in the West that I'm missing out on?
Thanks SO much!

In the east, you might also take a look at Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA), which is located in Baltimore. By reputation it is particularly strong in painting but I'm sure it's very good in several other fields. I don't know the West Coast schools that well but by reputation Art Center College of Design (Pasadena) (<a href="http://www.artcenter.edu/%5B/url%5D">http://www.artcenter.edu/</a>) is quite strong in some fields such as industrial design (product design), and California Institute of the Arts (Valencia) (<a href="http://calarts.edu/%5B/url%5D">http://calarts.edu/</a>) is quite strong in graphic design, animation and other applied arts.

What area of art are you interested in?

Taxguy-
Graphic Design, Fine arts, and photography.
It would be a plus if they had glass, as well, but that's definitely not a requirement.

i know cca (california college of the arts) has glass..

i go to calarts [ california institute of the arts ] for graphic design and i love it. its one of the few if not the only undergraduate program to give its undergrads studio space and it really helps a lot. you learn a lot from your peers. its ranked pretty high too with an extremely well known faculty. [ lorraine wild, ed fella, louise sandhaus.. etc. ]

art center is really good too .. art center is more corporate based design & calarts is conceptual too.. but definitely more based on visual & experimentation.

art center & calarts are pretty much the most well known/respected art schools on the west coast.

//lorraine wild, ed fella, louise sandhaus//

Jeffrey Keedy is still there?

Cal Arts picked up a lot of Cranbrook graduates it seems. Cranbrook was the place to be in the 1990s for a Masters degree in graphic design, Cal Arts was as well, and still is. I think it would be my first choice if I were looking for a college.

yep keedy is still here.

and yeah a lot of cranbrook grads. not a bad thing to have though.

The Academy of Art in San Francisco is supposed to have a strong fine arts program.

I'll have to look into Cal arts and the art center, thanks!

Kemikaruu- Where did you hear that? I only ask because I was looking into them, and they seemed a little commuter to me, especially because of all the online options available.
