So after being accepted i began looking at dorms. Personally I prefer the East Halls just because I know that they will have the best atmosphere for incoming freshman but my roommate wants Pollock because he heard they were better. I'd like to know which halls you guys think are better for a couple of guys that want a lot of involvement in social life, and also if Pollock has a lot of general freshman residents? How's the social atmosphere at Pollock?

My initial reaction was if you “want a lot of involvement in social life” then it won’t really matter where your dorm is, you will be on your way back to your hometown faster than you can say “freshman party experience”. …

But that’s not very helpful, is it Pollock is closer to classes, town/stores, and is smaller. Has a vastly better dining hall. East is closer to IM fields and the athletic venues. Freshmen live in both. (Remember, most of the people living in dorms are freshmen)

@greenbutton are you saying there isn’t a lot of time to have fun because classes are difficult?

Pollock: there’ll be freshmen, but the dining hall is WAY better (actually tested both :p), it’s close to everything (when it’s 10 degrees you’ll be glad you don’t have to walk far) and apparently the rooms are larger. If you worry about parties… don’t. There’ll be more than you can attend.
