<p>I heard that there are many Residential College student living here, but I'm not apart of it. What's the percentage of non-RC students living here?</p>
<p>I have a friend who’s in the RC program. From what she told me, the East Quad is especially for the RC students, and there’re still quite a few empty rooms. Seems like it’s not very likely for non-RC students to live there.</p>
<p>My D is an RC student that lived in EQ for 2 years. She said there were many students not in the RC living in the dorm…it’s quite large. I think they try to have most of the RC kids on certain floors and others elsewhere. </p>
<p>You can’t beat the location and if you’re lucky, you’ll get a room with a nice courtyard view and hardwood floors. The food is also quite good!</p>
<p>I lived in EQ last year and was not in the RC. It doesn’t really make a difference. The only thing about it is that every person you meet is going to ask you, “are you in the RC?” There were very few people in my hall that were in the RC. I do think they try to keep them together, and I think certain “houses” may be exclusively RC. I think they also have a few single sex halls this year which is cool. Don’t get me wrong, you WILL be surrounded by RCers, but you should not have any reason to feel out of place there. And the different programs the hall does are a lot of fun. </p>
<p>East Quad provided a really good experience for me. I hated the food but I got used to finding something to eat or going to South Quad or Mojo, which really was not a big deal. The location is nice, the staff are mostly great, there are some good places to eat right there, parking is super convenient for any friends or family that may come by (like two options right there, one that is free after 6pm), and it’s like a 5 minute walk from classes. I would have absolutely picked it again had I not decided Newberry might be a better fit for me.</p>
<p>Don’t worry about it. I knew several people in East Quad who were not in the RC.</p>

<p>It has big rooms, though it has terrible food. I have never heard of someone wanting to go to EQ to eat.</p>

<p>My room in EQ was 14x19, had two windows, and three closets. The other rooms down my hall were a bit smaller but still VERY good sizes. I’d like to know where there are bigger rooms, yosup?</p>
<p>And to clarify about the food, since I also complained about it, when I found something on the menu I was willing to eat it was always high quality food. The menu was just very strange with TONS of ethnic food, and I have unique dietary needs and don’t eat those sorts of things. If you are willing to eat lots of strange foods all the time you won’t have any problem with EQ. If you are looking for more traditional meals you will have to eat elsewhere a lot of the time, or else stick to waffles and sandwiches. I ate a lot of cereal and soup last year.</p>
<p>Oh, I stayed there for orientation and thought the rooms were tiny. I guess I just had higher expectations for dorm rooms in general.</p>
<p>hey guys, one question. I just fixed my enrollment deposit not too long ago. and i’ve been sent the link to apply for housing. well, as much as i expected, there isnt any space available. well, i got into lsa(major undecided), and now i’m thinking of enrolling at the RC because i am quite fascinated by the rigor of the program. now, if i enroll in rc, would i be guaranteed a spot in East Quad? if so, what are the rooms like? single/double? </p>

<p>You would get a spot in East Quad if you are in the RC-- if there are still rooms available. If the building is full I suspect that they wouldn’t let you into the program until next year. If you can get in, the rooms are pretty good throughout, and on the North side of the building they’ve put in hardwood floors and I believe wifi as well.</p>
<p>Yosup, any idea what the dimensions of your room were? My friend lived in a double in newberry half the size of my room, there are some very small rooms here but I haven’t seen any in EQ yet. You should see some of the rooms at other schools. My cousin once lived in a double that was only 8x10, and the beds didn’t bunk.</p>
