I am a rising 4th year student in engineering, and aside from my time consuming and hard engineering classes next semester, i have to fit in an "unrestricted elective" to meet my degree requirements. Basically any graded class counts for this I think, so I am looking for a suggestions for an Easy-A class. Preferably where attendance is not required. I have taken many of the usual classes (comm, econs, psych, etc.), so I am looking for help from the community for more uncommon but very easy to easy classes.

Did you take personal finance in the Comm School? Practical, but nothing back breaking.

I was thinking about it but it’s at 8 AM. I know I’m going to be pulling a lot of late/all-nighters and this class seems to require attendance so I have kept it off my list for now (treating it as a last resort type class).

Have you thought about taking a J-term class then taking a reduced courseload for the spring? I did this, J-term was a blast (took a history of wine course) and spring was somewhat of a relief (minus two grad level EE classes)

Multicultural Ed 555–it’s probably the easiest class at UVA.

^^Agree with shoe – J-Term and/or Summer Session if a feasible option…

Unfortunately I cannot take summer/J-term classes due to motivational reasons, but wow wahoomb! thanks for pointing out multicultural ed to me. It seems perfect for my needs.

Attendance is required at your discussion section for multicultural ed, I think. Though you might not mind attending, it’s interesting/relevant.
I’d also recommend… Fiction Writing/Poetry writing. I like intro languages, too, but they usually have required attendance. If Bioethics is being offered, it is a once per week discussion and a lecture you don’t have to attend. Child psych is a no-discussion class last time I checked. Any astronomy class with Ed Murphy, there are plenty of eschoolers in the class this semester. You vaguely have to attend enough to get 100 clicker points but you can do that in your sleep and you can do other work in class if you do go, plus he is an amazing lecturer. Anyways hope you find something that works well…!
