I'm going to need some next semester.
I foolishly thought that Writing 20 was 'an easy A', but it is actually one of my worst classes right now, haha.

Psych 11 .

Bio 48. (Genetics and Society)

BME 101!

Just kidding, I don't really know of many easy A classes personally.

EOS 11 - Dynamic Earth

That class is a joke.

Chem 83 - by far the easiest large lecture course at Duke. You can't take it if you're majoring in science or engineering, though, as I understand it.

Ocean Science 12 is another one (forgot the exact name.)

its EOS 12 - the dynamic oceans

Psych 119? - abnormal psych

This might sound counterintuitive but a lot of upper division/senior seminar classes are easy A's (or at least A-'s). They expect a lot of work and detailed work but b/c of this, people who are prepared tend to do well - grades are based more on intelligent discussion, research, rather than curved tests.

Take a history class. e.g., with Fenn.

favorites thread for future reference

anymore?
haha =D

What about these classes?

Psy 97 (Developmental Psychology)
Stats 101
History 111 (Civil War and Reconstruction)
PolSci 110 (American Political Parties)
Spanish 76

so pretty much any psych class is easy haha

no I got a B in Psych 97....
I wouldn't call it an easy A.

what about in the sciences (like chem or bio)
thanks for the help everyone! =)

@DukeRose4288. It all depends on the professor. When I took Psy 97, it was an incredibly easy A. I was (mildly) annoyed I didn't get an A+, though, as I ended up with a 97.5%. This is true for any course really.

how are pub pol courses?

Psy 97 was not an easy A at all when I took it - tests were very detailed with a lot of material to learn. Intro cognitive psych and some of the higher level courses can also be hard with more research involved. The easiest psych class is 116, but you have to do a moderate amount of work (mostly reading) for any Duke class. The only class that required almost no effort was EOS 11 - all multiple choice and very little reading. I thought some of the mid-level language courses were not difficult as long as you have a high school background in the language.

STA 101 will depend on your professor. I had a more experienced one who taught it well, but she doesn't normally teach 101. I didn't think it was difficult - especially compared to calculus - but there was reading and homework for every class in my section.

I took Psy97 in spring 2008...it was not easy...

floridastudent-not sure you are going to find many easy As (or even Bs, haha) in bio or chem...people work their butts off to make above average, which ends up being like a B- or B
