I'm afraid that I'm eating too much and that the time is taking away my study time. I'm almost always eating (I eat like 4-6 meals after school) and I take anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes doing so. I don't really count how many times I eat but I know it is quite frequent. Should I cut down on my eating habits? It seems like I need food to help me get through the work lol. My weight is average by the way and I think my metabolism is quite high.

Er... yes? Unless your 'meals' are like an apple?

See a doctor.... we're not qualified to tell the truth.

^ I concur

"Folk Physiology" isnt very good usually

When I took health in 9th grade, the book said it was normal for teens to eat anywhere from 5-7 meals a day...but that book was from like the 80s. XD I'd recommend asking your doctor.

I actually use eating to have an excuse to not study. Which is probably not a good thing. I've been eating crazily this week because it is the one week I have off between xc and track.

It's actually healthier to eat several SMALL meals during the day than to eat three big ones. The key word there, though, is SMALL- think soup, a fruit salad, half a sandwich, veggies with dip, etc.

However, there is a difference between eating because you're hungry, and eating because you need something to do with your mouth. If you're "mouth hungry" instead of real hungry, try chewing gum or something to keep you occupied. Otherwise, just make sure you're eating healthy foods, and not pigging out on junk.

Eat whatever you want. You're not fat

Nucleus - I appreciate the irony:)
You should post this on parents forum

No, why not continue with it, unless it's detrimental to your health?
Sounds like you're healthy.

If you're so worried about wasting time eating (which sounds rather ironic to me) just eat while you work.

start drinkin more water..it'll take away some of the hunger

Eat and study chief. It's called multitasking.

Overeating is bad even if you're not fat. When you're young you can eat a lot, but as soon as you hit your mid twenties you will get fat.

You might not be overeating though. Ever since I got to college I eat more frequently than before, but I'm losing weight because I only have a few crackers or something.

Don't eat and study - the less you enjoy your food, the more likely you are to overeat. If you aren't paying attention to your food you can eat the whole box of whatever you're eating without noticing.

Last but not least, why are you asking us? This is a diet problem, we aren't qualified to tell you what to eat.

I think that your creating of this thread suggests that you think that you are indeed overeating. As above poster stated, "over"eating is unhealthy.
