I was looking at Dean J's blog for last year which mentioned that possible Echols candidates were receiving calls at the end of February.

Has anyone received a call from the Virginia Society this year? (Or received any notification?)

i received a call about a week ago informing me i was being considered as an echols candidate. the lady just explained the program to me and asked if i had any questions, and that was it.

Does anyone know if the Rodman Scholars program does similar calls? I’m applying for Engineering and I believe that the Rodman Scholar program is similar to the Echols one, but it is for Engineers.

Rodman scholars is the engineering equivalent, but I don’t know if they do similar class.

Rodman is a bit different than Echols. D is a Rodman and there were no calls last year- I think she was notified by email initially and then by mail. If memory serves me correctly she got her notification a bit early to plan for DOTL.

Congrats catk!

Also, could we still be a viable candidate even if we haven’t received a call?

I don’t think the Echols calls have started in earnest yet…just a few selective calls.

I meant to write “calls” not “class.” Ooops.
