So i got into Dartmouth as well as an Echols scholar offer from UVA...tough decision, does anyone else face the same dilemma or have any suggestions?

The decision shouldn't be "Echols vs Dartmouth", it should be "UVA vs Dartmouth".

Give us more details: Did you receive aid from either school? Where are you from? Do you like cold weather? Do you like skiing? Etc.

yeah good point...I forgot to mention that I live right here in charlottesville. Cold weather isn't a factor for me, and neither is distance from home. I love the ville and wouldn't mind staying here for 4 more yrs, but Hanover is a nice town also. I'm interested a lot in the social lives of the two schools, because the quality of education is probably similar, although I could be wrong and please someone set me straight if I am.

If you're not in a position to get aid from either one, then go to UVA. There's no reason to spend a significant amount of extra money to attend Dartmouth. If you're intelligent and industrious, you'll do as well coming from UVA as you would from Dartmouth.

i dont know a ton about dartmouth, but UVA is crazy good and the echols scholars program is very prestigious. for the most bang for your buck, cant go wrong with uva
