I tested out of Econ 001 with AP credit, but not 002. Would it be advisable for me to take Econ 010, or to simply follow through with 002?

I dunno dude what is your major and stuff
if you feel good about micro just take 002

I’m an incoming frosh at Wharton… thanks for your response!

I would recommend Econ 2. You don’t need the review of micro in 10 and you’ll have a better curve in Econ 2 compared to 10. Half of econ 10 will be review so you might fall in the trap of thinking that you know it all really well and being bit by the curve.

Econ 10 will be really easy for you (the first half - the micro stuff - a little harder than the macro half so you should be fine) but you’ll learn much more in Econ 2. Finance 101 builds on macro so it might be worth investigating the overlap. If it’s significant, just stick with Econ 10.

Econ 010 is not curved and from what I’ve heard, it’s the easier of the two (you also won’t learn crap about macro though)

if you take econ 10 instead of econ 1 and 2, and you will get a grade lower than A-, you will not be permitted to enroll in intermediate level courses

As someone who took econ 10, and had friends later take econ 2, I can say that econ 10 is a much, much easier course. Econ 10 is basically an easy version of econ 1 and an easy version of econ 2 put together. You will get plenty of macro in finance 101, so I’d recommend getting out of the econ requirement with as little grief as possible.

Also, econ 10 has no curve, just a standard 90+ = A range kind of thing.
