What kind of EC's does Vanderbilt like in those looking to major in HOD?

I was also wondering about this. Anyone care to shed some light?

I mean, I'm clearly not an admissions officer or anything, but the tenets of what the HOD major strives to achieve are listed on the website:

-Effective written and oral presentation skills
-Data-driven decision analysis
-Proficiency in using technology toward the goal of aiding organizations
-Interpersonal communication and collaborative work behaviors
-Group leadership, organizational development, management, and training

So...I would assume that anything that shows that you're already interested in these things would be good. Also take a look at the HOD tracks...if you're interested in Health and Human Services, maybe you could volunteer at a hospital. If you're interested in the International development track, maybe you could do some work somewhere like the Sudanese center we have in Nashville. In general the major is REALLY people oriented so anything that shows that you have an interest in helping people and helping organizations function optimally should be good. Just my opinion!!
