ED at Dartmouth

I'm applying ED; is it possible also to apply EA to other schools under the Dartmouth policy?

YEs, you can apply to other EA schools (not SCEA).

Dartmouth's Ed statement:

*Under the Early Decision Plan, it is a violation of the spirit and the letter of the agreement for an applicant to be an Early Decision candidate at two institutions at the same time. Students who apply to Dartmouth under the Early Decision Plan may initiate applications to other institutions, provided that none of the other applications is made under an Early Decision Plan. The obligation explicit in the Early Decision Plan, as described here and as defined by the National Association of College Admissions Counselors, is a commitment on the part of the candidate to withdraw any other applications and to initiate no new applications if accepted under an institution’s Early Decision Plan.

For the Applicant: Dartmouth is my first choice, and I wish to be considered as an Early Decision candidate. If I am accepted under the Early Decision Plan, I will matriculate at Dartmouth in September 2006. In addition, I understand that if accepted under Early Decision, I must withdraw all my applications (if any) to other institutions and submit no new ones. I further acknowledge that it is a violation of the agreement for an applicant to be an Early Decision candidate at two institutions at the same time.*

awesome

thanks

Hey guys, is Dartmouth going to find out if I apply to other EA institution

You can applyED to Dartmouth and EA to other schools unless their policies state otherwise (example Harvard, Stanford and Yale are SCEA which means you cannot apply EA there and ED to Dartmouth).

make sure you read the polcies at all schools which you are considering

too bad dartmouth doesn't have EA

Dartmouth doesn't have a strong enough draw to offer EA - it needs to lock in students.

i'm willing to be locked in!

Locking in by your definition means to matriculate once accepted right. I doesn't mean that Dartmouth will know which other EA Im applying to, right. And if they do know, does it reduce my chance
