ED class of 2022 discussion

@librarylove I mean I suppose it could. But what do I know? I only know as much as anyone else… But I definitely relate. I’m really hoping it works out.

No one has to check their Wash U Pathway or Financial Aid portal until Dec. 15th - whatever floats your boat. I like to check often, as I have a home office where I work during the day and have that ability. It suits my personality. Sorry if I’ve rubbed anyone who is waiting the wrong way. I am hoping it sure isn’t Dec. 15th. The rumor of the 14th is bad enough!!

And lol I think that were all talking about this because it makes us more excited and anxious for the big day… In case you hadn’t thought about it, this is possibly one of the biggest days of some of our lives. Especially for us that didn’t apply to five Ivies. We’re just having fun with it…

I understand completely, there is a lot of anxiety in this ED. It was not my intent to be mean. But, someone already said their counselor in ST Louis was told the 14th. So be happy if it is earlier, but calling won’t make it come out any faster. I would only trust the word of a guidance counselor or someone who got the info directly from admissions. Speculation isn’t accurate, regardless of when decisions were released in the past, at other schools, etc

I think it is because WU states “it could be ANY time this week” that our anxiety is elevated. Most ED schools state flatly it will be 5 pm Friday, period—I think if a hard release time were stated we would not be scouring over our emails daily—or maybe we still would— who are we kidding??

Good Morning, Wash U ED Applicants!! Have a great day.

Just wanted to let you all know that my D’s GC told me today that Wash U does not reach out to them until decisions are announced to the students. I was hoping she might’ve been informed about the decision day/time since we are so close. Schools sometimes do such a thing.

haha a new day of waiting

I’m not thinking today will be it. Tomorrow is the big day I think…

Where’s the hope that some Admins are in their break room and the boss walks in and says, “Hey, what the heck? We’re all done here - let’s let the kids know a day early!”"

Hahahah, I am cracking myself up.

Why did you guys pick WashU?

@Winky1 I’ve been reading for a few days now. I’m a parent, too; my D is calm, like yours. I, on the other hand, think this wait is painful

@rhymetime, she knows I am a bit crazy with this college applications/admissions stuff, and I think she sort of likes that I’ll take the lead on checking up on things so that she doesn’t have to worry too much about those details. She does the heavy lifting, and I obsess afterwards. Although, like I said, she told me yesterday she checked her portal 10x. That’s a lot for her to have started checking. Hey, btw, Penn ED results will be announced today if anyone knows of a student who has applied there. My D has a friend who did.

@Winky1 Sounds like our girls could be kindred spirits! Mine hasn’t been checking yet. I think her calmness may be making my obsessing worse! Eek! I honestly did not think it would be this long before they released the decisions.

@aa51400 WashU is my reach school… but it is by far my first choice. I wanted a school with a rigorous Physics program, and I liked the idea of achieving academic goals as a group as opposed to on your own, as you find in other top tier schools, like ivies or Duke or Vandy. On top of that, after touring, I loved the campus, and feel of the college. I want to jump right in to lots of ec’s there. And the colors are amazing

Because obviously the school’s colors re the most important part of any selection.

@Jjlghv73 Me too! The campus had such a nice feeling to it when I visited. I’m not sure how to describe it, but it just felt right. They seemed really collaborative too, which is important. I also want to study something STEM-related and someone from my school who went there came back and taught us a math class and it was so interesting!

@aa51400 Thats so awesome. Yeah, I think Washington has a spirit of true learning to it that other colleges don’t. It gets away from the “system” of just memorizing stuff. Feels like I’m actually going to learn! Also, I am really really excited to play intramural sports haha.

So does anyone think that it will be today or are we all at a consensus for Thursday

I would say Thursday…
