On a side question, are SAT IIs in the 620-640 range (all 3) worth sending? I'm thinking no but I just want to check. Although I already sent my application so I don't know if they'd consider them.

Hi- My son was accepted ED and his stats were a mix of high 600 and a low 700, near 4.0 GPA, 5 APs, some honors courses, two great essays, strong EC's (especially his summer experiences), and great recs (a character reference), not sure about the interview but probably good. Good luck and don't get discouraged.

thank you for the encouragement, although I question whether I have "two great essays" or "excellent extracurriculars" myself, I'm really only in 2 big ones and the rest are rather small club things (this years because of my commitment to my two big extracurriculars I haven't even had much time for them).

Does anyone else have a comment about sending the SAT 11s? If they won't hurt me, I'd prefer to send them to show I've done all the recommended stuff possible (maybe itll show interest?).

i thought that when you send your scores, all the scores get sent, including ones you'd rather oberlin not see. but i might be wrong.

Sibel, I remember being told that they rarely defer people -- they generally just accept or reject; they defer if you have something specific they want to see you fix. Or so I've heard.

ya they get all your scores only if you didn't send you scores BEFORE you took subject tests, as I understand. The the subjects wouldn't be on there.

I guess I should make up my mind whether to send already, lol. I'll send I guess, I don't think they'll hurt me that much.
