I just applied ED to CAS and was wondering if they will see my quarter grades. They are all A’s, except for a C+ in Differential Equations. Math has never been my forte, and this class is ridiculously hard. If they do see it, how much would it impact for a chance of admission? Thanks for reading.
They DO NOT see quarter grades, sometimes schools request a mid year report summary (but for ED you are already in) and all schools require a end of year report… If you are accepted only a d or f would hurt you … but if you are pushed to regular decision or waitlist then there is a good chance they will see the mid year report so try to bring it up to a B
Sorry in advance if this hijacking but @runswimyoga does this mean that even of my school says that they send first quarter grades that they will see them only after they made the decision for ED?
@IvyWin Colleges only request (and only some colleges- very few of them, even request them) or get a mid year report sent… so I think someone in your school is pulling your leg by saying they send first quarter grades… think about it most colleges have 30,000 applicants- the colleges have all of the paperwork they can handle without having to update applicant status midway through with quarter grades…
So yes the College will make the early decision WITHOUT seeing your senior year grades at all… now you will have to submit a final year end report and some colleges rescind their acceptance if you have say a D or an F…
If you get deferred until regular decision then they MAY want (this is still doubtful) a midyear report…
They probably won’t look at quarter grades unless as skieurope said they are on the fence about you and decide to call your GC and ask for them. What is more likely (and I am not talking about for you personally bc I don’t know your stats) is that you get deferred to regular decision and then a mid year summary automatically gets sent out… so work really hard to get that grade up to at least a B on the mid year report!
