For Early Decision Applicants (specifically Emory), when should one expect to receive an admittance/denial letter? I know it says "December 15th", but is that a "you will get it by then" or "on that date" or "near that date"?

Does anyone know if Emory's letter for acceptance is a big envelope or a small envelope?

Usually colleges send you a big one if you get in, a small one if you get rejected...although it definitely may vary with every individual school. If I were you I would call Emory on December 14th to ask for your status, and then again on the 15th. Does Emory have any type of online status check? If so, it should be there on the 15th I'm assuming.

The reason I asked about the size of the envelope is because I know some colleges letters come in one mailing which is thin and another with all the other information.

Last year, CCers reported that instate Emory ED1 decisions were received on Dec. 18th. Most everyone else (CA,NY,NJ) got their decisions on Dec. 20th and Dec 21st. Emory was much later than most of the other schools and no, do not call daily to check...that was reported to annoy admission's office (in last years posts). The ones who were accepted last year claimed that the acceptance envelope was squarish and contained a CD.
