ED or not?

hello everyone

I’m thinking of applying ED for the class of 2019, but I’m worried I might have a better shot applying after I complete the fall semester. I’ll probably be the student organizer for my school’s mental health charity campaign from October to December, I’m currently working on a children’s book for charity which will take a few months to publish + sell, and I’ll be one of the organizers of a literary conference hosted by my school in late october. They’re things that have taken up and will continue to take up a lot of time and effort until late next semester, and I feel really proud of them, but I’m not sure how I’d include them in my application.

Do you think I’d have the chance to email Brown in December and let them know about these activities before they made a decision about my application? Or would I be risking a rejection before they could even take them into consideration? Obviously, if I applied RD I would directly put this down on the common app, which might be better.

Thank you!
:-bd

anyone?

The ED app is not due until November 1st, at which time you will have been working on all of these activities, so you could list them in the activity section of the common application and/or ask your guidance counselor to reference them in his or her recommendation letter.

You can look this up, but I think the Brown ED rejection rate is pretty darn low. Most applicants are deferred or accepted. If you were rejected ED, I doubt these few extra activities would have made the difference.

Best of luck!

My counselor always says that you should submit your application when your application will be at its best. It sounds like your application will be better later, so you should probably submit it then. Anyways, that’s basically what I’m going to be doing, and I’m in the same boat!
