ED or RD to Penn Wharton?? & Chances

I want to apply early decision or action somewhere namely between Stanford and Penn Wharton. One thing that pulls me back from applying early decision to Penn Wharton is binding, of course; I won't ever find out if I could have gotten elsewhere. But I do love Penn and I would love to study at a prestigious undergraduate business program.

Stanford is an amazing school too, but I know I have a lesser chance of getting into Stanford than I do at Penn. I do not want to feel like I'm "wasting" my early application on somewhere that I have little to no chance with. Perhaps I am wrong to assume that Stanford is harder to get into Penn; if that is the case, correct me. But that is my impression now.

Or maybe my assumption that applying early will give me better chances of being admitted is wrong too. In any case, I just wanted to ask for input from people who may have found themselves in a similar situation--in which they want to apply early but are stuck between a first choice early action school or a first choice early decicion school. If you need any clarification as to what I am asking, let me know.

And while I'm at it, what do you think are my chances of being admitted into Wharton?
- I currently attend a very prestigious high school; about a third of each class goes to an IVY, Stanford, Duke, or MIT. I was new as a sophomore after spending my freshmen year (including my fourth and fifth grade as well as my middle school years) at an international school in Korea. I only moved because I had to (my dad was getting into a new business in LA) so I didn't even have much time to prepare for a new life. I applied over the deadline to my high school due to this late realization of having to move, so circumstances were kind of special. With that said...

- Student-run business for school (junior: office manager, senior: executive member)

----I translate letters from Korean to English for sponsors trying to communicate with their "adopted" underprivileged kids in third-world countries. I also support a child of my own in Mexico, writing letters and financially supporting him out of my own money. I've done this source of community service for 4 years and probably will continue throughout college.
**I'm not involved in many, many EC's. I tried a number of things but found passions in only a few things that I have pursued for years, so I dropped a lot of EC's early on. The aforementioned activities keep me very busy all year.

I'll edit updates as they come...

DO NOT apply to a school solely on the grounds that you think you have a better chance of getting in. you wouldn't be "wasting" your early. early means you really like the school, not the school's chance of admission; it's not about how easy the school is, it's about YOU and what you have to offer to the school.

my advice, do stanford EA because that way, you're not bound to a school that you may not even end up liking, even though upenn seems easier to get in.

oh, and also, stanford EA admits about 20%. wharton admits 10% or so in RD. just a heads up before you make a potentially bad decision.
