<p>i just recently found out that if you say you don't wanna be considered bound by brown and get deferred or rejected by plme, you'll be deferred or rejected by brown too. i thought you could still be accepted to brown early (nonbinding)... i was upset by that.</p>

<p>I checked the box because I still want to go to Brown regarless of whether I get into PLME. I was nervous I was going to forget to check the box and then get deferred because of that!</p>

I had to talk my parents into letting me check the box because they didnt really want to committed on spending 50K on Brown.
I don't think I have much of a shot at plme...but I'm just hoping for the best!

<p>i don't follow.. why would your chances at plme decrease if you don't want you don't want your admission to brown to be binding?</p>
<p>i think its cuz they assume that you want to go only for the plme...not the actual school
which is wholly wrong but thas jus something that they think when they look at an application and it says taht you dont want binding..</p>

<p>that probably is the only possible reason (even though it is flawed). but then again, the conclusion that checking the box decreases your plme chances is based off speculation, not fact, right?</p>
