I'm so happy for the people who got in early to Columbia. But I think Barnard needs to EMAIL their decisions at the same time as Columbia. Making girls who applied to Barnard wait a full 4+ days longer than their Columbian counterparts is just cruel!

Ahh, I'm so nervous! I really hope they do mail them out tomorrow! I kind of want to call and ask tomorrow...

I here ya! If you do call, could you ask if they send acceptances differently (faster) than denials, please post what they say because I really want to know. It's funny how nervous I am (assuming you too) when next year at this time I'll be also nervous about finals week.

Last year, Barnard sent out acceptances by USPS 2 day priority mail, and rejections/deferrals by regular postage. I REALLY hope they send them out tomorrow; a few people I know were accepted to Columbia today and it's driving me crazy not knowing!

Hahaha, I don't think I've ever been this anxious in my life. My guidance counselor has been in touch regularly with the admissions officer who reads my region's applications and she called this week to ask about my amount of absences and latenesses (I have A LOT) so I don't know what to think! I had a good feeling about it until that happened, ughh. I'll definitely post what they say when I call.

I was reading some posts from last year though and some accepted people didn't get their letters until later though... So I'm trying not to gauge it on when I get my letter because if I don't get it within like three days I'll be freaking out.

I know what you guys are feeling. But we hafta stay cool. This is a no-mental-breakdown zone. lol. I'm seriously praying for all of us. :-) You know, we all could get in!

haha we're all online at the same time! Yeah.. I tend to go through these phases of confidence and mental breakdown. Like sometimes I'm like.. "your SATs are solid, you've got some nice awards under your belt, etc.. " and other times I'm like "wow, my GPA and class ranks sucks.. there's no way I'm getting in!"

These last few days have been so crazy; people in my school are all finding out and its making me very anxious.

The worst part about not getting in might be having to do all the other applications; I wasn't able to motivate myself to do so much work on something that might be meaningless.

Good luck ladies!

<3, a current Barnard first-year

Hang in there, ladies!

I live in NJ, and got my acceptance packet via Priority Mail on December 16, two days after they mailed them out on the 14th.

And I think December 15 was the worst day of my entire life. (:

Good luck, everybody!

I just called the Admissions office right now, and they told me that the decisions are being mailed out tomorrow (Dec. 13). ahhh! Quite exciting.

Thanks! So acceptances should come on Saturday?

I was hoping they would be mailed today :(

yeah, i called today as well and they said they are sending the letters out tomorrow.

do you think that it could take 3 days to come if i live in florida?

Probably Not. Express mail usually only takes 2 days in the continental US

i'm soo nervous... i just want to KNOW!! Do you know if the acceptances are mailed first or they are all just mailed out at the same time?

Do you think that if you live in New York that a rejection/deferral might come by saturday as well? Waiting till monday would just be terrible.

Hopefully. I really hope that all the snow the northeast is gonna get won't delay the mail.

Wow. I didn't even think of that! stresses out more
