EDers with LOW SATs

I got a 530 in MATH IC!

Is there any chance for me?

music isn't much of a hook in jersey, too many damn good kids, and too few spots in regions/all states... but considering about 20 hours a week go to violin... it has to count for something

yeah i have to agree with your profile cujoe...

nj has got to be the crappiest place in the US/earth (when talking about college admissions)

kliuless, do you think my hooks will make up for my crappy SATS?

I don't know...

In terms of location, you're still competing against every other Penn applicant from Florida, and I don't know how much Penn might know about Podunkville.

But if you say you have super essays/recs, then you might be fine.

SexyYeti...you got a 2400..thats insane..even if it was on your fourth try

I hate when people say I have great essays/recs personally. I mean, how do you know that? Because a couple people said so? I mean every single person on cc says that, and I wonder for how many of them the adcoms were actually impressed by their essay, regardless of whether or not they were accepted

m- 770
cr - 750
w-780

math2c - 770
chem - 710
span - 680

eng AP - 5
us hist - 4

my low score: 690 in math. both times i took the SAT I. >< my other scores are 700 and above - i guess those are good nationally, but yea, mostly they're barely within range of Penn TT; i just think it's kinda ironic/funny that i got the same score twice - what are the chances of that happening?! >_< lol

but..

bum bum bum...

i'm from new jersey

um^ those aren't bad... what's the point? anyway, i'll be frank, my essays probably weren't that good, and my recs might've been, i don't know, in truth that's probably how half the people on cc are, but it helps to think yours is better than the average...

uh...med1488...those aren't low scores....or am i just imagining things???

Celebrian, I am just going by the reccomendations I read from my teachers and counselor and the comments by English professors gave me on the essays, There is no reason for me to lie.

I didn't say you were lying, just that I'm not convinced that all of us have great recs. :)

i'm saying for nj.. they might not be low.. but it doesnt really matter... cause i'm from new jersey....

honesty is a good virtue haha

I'll agree to that....

no idea...my teachers never offered to let me read them...i think i'll just trust them tho...cuz if i find out they're not so good, i'll no longer like to stop by and chat w/ them lol

just curious... good sat II's make up for decent sat I? like 800M,710V,670W

but 800 MII, 740 chem, 750 bio? + a 690 physics i couldn't hide lol

i'm kinda confused, prob cuz i'm out here in so cal, but why is new jersey so bad??
