EDers with LOW SATs

ok, northeast... lots of kids apply, really cutthroat, also consider the fact that a lot of affluent communities are located in jersey, which means really good schools, adds to the competition, also consider over representation from such a small state vs. montana... FINALLY consider minority population having crazy good stats, oh and musically, lots of asians really good at violin

wow...and i thought so cal was competitive...maybe we're just more laid back about it lol

well i live in bergen county, nj.. i think it's overall the 3rd or 4th richest county in the US.. theres such a high concentraiton of people with the brains/$ to go to penn and other top schools... i'd say people from my county make up 1-2% of the ED applicant pool

AHA... you're no.4, cuz hunterdon is 3, and yea... 8 ed'ers to penn probably another 10 rd

haha in my school theres a kid with 1500 sats whose father went to wharton undergrad AND grad, aunt, grandmother, grandfather all went to penn... grandfather is a biology professor at penn...

... and a black HOCKEY player with JEWISH parents

and then me... uh... i'm good at school... and soccer? kind of. i got a 2300, hopefully thatll get me in + i think i'm saludatorian not really sure tho

we're all early decision

yeah...

I go to a really small high school (63 kids in my grade), and of those 63, 5 are applying to Penn ED.

Yeah, NJ is as cutthroat as you can get...

63 kids?!?!?!?! damn....thats less kids then we have in ap gov total!! 0_0 lol, i'm used to fairly large schools - my grade has a little more than 500 kids

i dunno tho, i wouldnt want to really live anywhere else.. i mean if u lived on a farm in nebraska u could get into penn.. but then you'd be a boring hick piece of *****.

i'm like 2nd in a class of 240 and got a 2300... that's my shot to get in.... and if i don't get in... at least i havent lived in montana for the first 18 years of my life... and i'll see you at cornell. if i'm lucky.

M800 Cr800 W790 :(

Haha, now now med, don't generalize. I met some Nebraskans during a national conference, and contrary to popular belief, they are just as normal as everyone else =P

yeah man 770 750 780.. i feel your pain.. a little.. i got 4 wrong on the whole damn thing

I guess it was only a question of time before someone with 99th+ percentile scores would brag on a thread called "Eders with LOW SATS".... no offense med1488 and dooit but c'mon

dooit...I hope you're not being serious with the sad face.

i'm sorry, but you people are kidding me, right?? i'd love those kinds of scores!! the only one i really have to boast about is 800 CR; the other two are blah

lol i bet blah is like 720

try 690 =__=;

omg thats SOO horrible u should probably stab yourself in the eye or something

kidding aside i'm kind of hoping penn looks for well roundedness and not excellence in a particular area.... does anyone else feel like there's nothing special about them?

****^ they said passion... so all i do is math/science + violin haha
