EDII Chance?

Applying to CGS on EDII

White female attending a public high school in MA

School doesn’t rank

GPA: 3.4W (pretty extreme upward trend-- 2.8 freshman year, 3.4 sophomore year, 3.8 junior year, looking at about a 4.4 or higher for senior year but that’s not final yet), my school doesn’t calculate UW but that’s probably close to 3.2?

ACT: 33

APs: didn’t start taking any until senior year, but I am currently enrolled in AP Psych, AP Environmental Science and AP Art History

Extracurriculars:
3 years in Mock Trial
2 years in Art Club
2 years in Book Club
1 year in Clay Club
2 years of volunteering at a dog rescue (100+ hours)
religious education teacher’s aide (only about 10 hours)
began working at a pizzeria in August as a server/cashier

Awards: Four-year John and Abigail Adams Scholarship (I know everyone probably has this listed but I don’t have any other awards so I figured it’s better than nothing)

As far as essays and recs I’m not sure. I wrote my essay on failing my driver’s test twice and was told it was pretty good, still in the planning stages for the supplemental essay

I toured the college over the summer and also signed up for the mailing list

You should apply to another school at BU (CAS, COM etc.) and choose the CGS option. Your SAT is great for BU and while you had a bad freshman year you have a good upward trend

@TomSrOfBoston thanks for responding! Just wondering, why should I apply to another college within BU and choose the CGS option instead of applying directly to CGS?

Your ACT is way above average for BU. Your GPA is low but has an upward trend. You would have a decent chance of admission to other schools. If not, you will still have CGS.
