How do we edit the css profile application for another school if it's already been submitted to a school

I called college board regarding this and they stated no changes can be made on-line. The procedure is to “print out your CSS profile application, make changes on the print-out, and mail to financial aid office at each school in which it was submitted.”

No no…this student is submitting to NEW schools, not trying to change to send to previously submitted schools.

Go into your profile. There should be a tab for adding schools to submit someplace. When you add new schools to submit, you put in the current information…and then submit.

Pacpac…you are talking about how to change an already submitted Profile. Read the OP,again…that is NOT what this student is asking.

@thumper1 no need to yell

@pacpac, Thumper was not yelling but trying to make sure you understood why the advice you provided was wrong so you would not do the same in future posts. Two words capitalized to provide emphasis is not yelling. All caps is yelling.

The advice provided was not incorrect. If you look at the OP, it could be read either way given the way in which it was written. My information was 100% accurate if looking to correct a CSS already submitted.

The key words…“for ANOTHER SCHOOL”. Not yelling, for emphasis. The OP wants to know how to change the Profile to submit to another school. Your advice was very accurate for editing a profile to send to the SAME schools already submitted. It was not accurate for editing to send to another school.

I think you just misread it.

The words “for another school” indicate that the student is trying to now send the CSS to another school…after having submitted it earlier to a different school.

For the Profile, when a student submits to another school, they enter the current data if they choose to do so.

For example, if a student submits to School A for an ED deadline in November…that student might want to submit to school B in February after taxes are completed. Since school B is a new submission, the financial data can be correctly entered from their completed tax form on the new Profile for school B.

To edit School A to reflect the tax form information, you would need to do contact School A and ask them what their procedure is. Some schools use IDOC, and that will take care of any updates the school needs. Some schools just use the IRS data retrieval tool for income and tax information. Some schools will want you to print out the form and write in the directions. It varies by college.

But for NEW submissions to another college, you can change the info.
