Effects of attending summer session at UCLA

I am currently attending a CCC and plan to apply for admission to UCLA (first choice) and other UCs for Fall 2014. I will be IGETC certified by the end of Spring 2014. There are different scenarios for completing the prerequisites for my major and none of them involve completing all of them. At best, I'd be 2 short; at worst 4. The best case scenario involves me taking a class at UCLA during summer session, which is open to all students. I was wondering if taking one class there to cover one prerequisite would affect my status at the time I apply. Meaning I wouldn't be considered applying as a CC student or something like that because I've earned credits from a 4 year institution. I'm already kind of worried because of credits I took at a foreign university that may disqualify me from admission so this would only make that worse.

Check whether it would cause you to be a “student who has some credit units from a four year school” and is thus subject to a credit unit cap (maximum of 86 semester or 126 quarter units) for applying as a transfer student to UCLA (other UCs may have different policies).

Summer session is not a “regular” session so it will not switch your status to “4-year college transfer.” No worries there.
