Electric Razors

I read in a post a while back that an electric razor was recommended for BCT. Is it recommended that you get a really cheap one or a really nice one? Also i assume there will be no outlets in Jack’s Valley (a stupid question, but i figure its better to ask anyway)? Thanks in advance for any insight…

It doesn't matter really, find one that's good for you. I used one I had had for a couple years. Just make sure its battery operated. On one charge mine lasted all of Jack's, so you should be ok. I think the bathrooms actually had outlets in Jack's, but don't count on using them because its horribly crowded in them! It's nice also having electric because you can just shave in the tent and not worry about trying to squeeze in space in the bathroom.

Really it depends on whether you prefer electric shaving or hot shaving. I prefer hot shaving, so I bought a $20 electric razor at walmart and used it for the 6 weeks in basic (best 20 bucks I ever spent, btw) solely for the convenience, but now I hot shave because I have more time and I prefer to do it that way, so I wouldn't have spent a lot on one. but if you prefer to shave electrically, than you may want a more expensive one. Granted that if you prefered to shave electrically, you'd already probably have one right now.

It is convenient when you're really in a hurry, though.

When our DS graduated from HS, we gave him a really nice Braun electric shaver that cleans itself- I'm not real sure that he was blessed at first, as he did not use an
electric shaver during high school. After BASIC, he said it actually was a great gift, LOL-

Convenience wise, they are great. Unfortunately, when we moved stuff to Jack's, mine turned on in the bag. I couldn't get a very good shave with a low battery! I use a manual now, as my electric did not shave quite as close without giving me a burn.
