Eli Whitney Students Program

@CelloDiego Thanks! :)

Looks like interview requests went out today. I got one.

@CelloDiego‌ congratulations and good luck! Let us know how it goes. Anyone else receive a call?

@CelloDiego Congrats! I have received one yet, still expecting.

I’ve sent my SAT scores before April, but it’s still marked awaiting. Do you guys think I’d better contact admission office at Yale?

Sorry for missing “not” up there.

Last year I received the interview call in early May. Perhaps there are a few rounds of interviews? I’m not ready to give up hope quite yet.

@springing @CelloDiego‌ Did Yale call you or send an email?

Telephone call last year. But then Yale didn’t use an online app last year so I’m not sure if the notification methods will change this year.

@marcuscolon‌ They called me. If they haven’t received your SAT scores, definitely send them an email. I got a call only one day after seeing that all my materials were in, so that might be what’s holding you back.

Thank you, guys. I will call College Board and Yale first thing in the morning on Monday.

By the way, do the interviewees have to participate in person? I hear they do interviews on Skype for people who can’t go to Connecticut, but I am not sure asking for Skype is a good idea, if I get an offer. Where do you guys live? I live in California.

I was originally going to do the Skype interview, but some nice relatives pitched in and paid for my plane ticket, so I’ll be doing the interview in-person. I am also in California. I don’t think it really hurts to do the Skype interview, as long as your connection is good and you can come across as energetic and enthusiastic.

I, for one, am excited that I get to visit Yale again when the weather is nicer!

Hi all!
Just curious : Are everyone’s documents showing up as received on the portal as of today?

@PaintTheSilence‌ I still have items that show “awaiting.”

Thanks, @springing!

Hello, I applied to the Eli Whitney Program, my first time, and as of Monday my application is showing completed.
I am an international older student, an empty nester actually with kids in college. I am not sure what else would be of interest so feel free to ask. As this is my first time around this particular block, and some of you have been through this already, maybe you know the answer to my question?
After application is complete, what’s next? I see this year they have a decisions website for the regulars… does this apply to EWSP applicants? Or is the next communique, an interview request or a rejection notice?

I got called for an interview about a week and a half ago.

Thank you for the recent posts! After seeing that some people had already been contacted, I double-checked my application, to find that my community college transcript was still “awaiting”. I don’t know where the mix-up occurred, but Yale has it now. I was told by the EWSP office yesterday, that an email was going out to all applications who still had items that needed to be submitted for consideration.
I am also an older student with two kids in college. I heard about the EWSP through Phi Theta Kappa.
Good luck to all!

Good to know you, folks!
